Today Reminder – 06 January 2014 (Day 4 – A New Horizon)

A reminder for today
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. (Psalm 1:1-3)

Every New Year starts with expectations and as we enter a new year we make new resolutions to change things in the year ahead. Some of those resolutions make it and some get lost as the weeks go by. I have written to you before about a positive mind set and how negative thoughts can alter your course and change the outcome of events. Yesterday our pastor mentioned the same thing. He said that we start a year with expectations and we end up getting what we expect should happen. So if your expectations are low then you most probably will end up with mediocre outcomes. You see, God never has low expectations for us; in fact God always has much more in store for us than what we can imagine.

We are often influenced by people and by this we are likely to allow negative people to alter our thoughts. The psalmist writes that those who delight in the Lord are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

My dear friend, what are your new year’s resolutions?  Take them to the Lord and align yourself with His plans. I can assure you that God’s expectations are above our own expectations and that we can do so much more if we reconcile our plans with those of the Lord. Make your number one resolution to not let yourself be influenced by negative (wicked) people, but let God be your influence and come with me as we expect only great things from the year ahead. Write down those resolutions and let us face this new horizon delighting ourselves in the Lord and meditating on His Word day and night.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
