A
reminder for today
When
I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the
stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human
beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower
than God and crowned them with glory and honour. (Psalm 8:3-5)
This is one of my favourite verses. When we look at our
new horizon and just before the sun breaks the darkness, we see the stars and
as I child I have always been amazed at the beauty of the night sky. We lived
on a farm and the night there is much darker than here in the city with all its
lights. Our nights on the farm are always filled with millions of stars and the
beauty of it can keep you in amazement for hours.
These verses refer to the wonder of the heavens and remind us
again who created it. Then the baffling part: what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings
that you should care for them? When I read this specific verse I can’t help
to think of Jesus and His wonderful miracle on the cross. How much does God
love us and how much do we love Him.
My dear friend, two things are important for our next
step into the next new horizon. We must remind ourselves who God is and what He
does for us and by this remain humble and refrain ourselves from pride. Then the
second thing is this - "'You must
love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength,
and all your mind.' And, 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'" "Right!"
Jesus told him. "Do this and you will live!" (Luke 10:27-28)
Come with me today into this horizon and let us be humble
and love God with all our heart and give Him the glory that He deserves.
Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
Cheers
