A
reminder for today
The
LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? (Psalm
27:1)
I have always loved the expression that love is that out of
the park over the stands homerun kinda feeling. Love is a deep feeling that
fills you with excitement and drives up your pulse and keeps you awake. We looked
at the origin of love yesterday and today I just want to chat about love as a
feeling. To fall into love is mostly the feeling that we refer too. That very
first kiss that makes your heart leap and your blood boil and it turns into all
that you can think of all day and night.
So love is an exhilarating feeling, but what happens to
that feeling after a week, a month, a year…
Does love die and friendship replaces it or does love
remain just a little less overwhelming. We have this saying that the moment
poverty enters at the front door, loves leaves at the back door. Which means
that love as a feeling is insufficient to keep all in place. So this means that
the feeling eventually dies and is replaced by an agreement to be together. Is that
why so many fall into love and then out of love, because the feeling is gone?
I believe that the initial falling into love is not the
actual love feeling. Falling into love is merely a desire like wanting a new
car and finally getting it. You are filled with excitement and you just want to
drive it to all your friends and family so that they can share in your
excitement. Love as a feeling is the way we live and respect other. Love is
that continuous battle to keep going and do keep standing and to keep
fighting. Love is the way we feel
towards each other, accepting and understanding.
When we truly love the Lord we will understand that His
love is like a fortress that surrounds us protecting us so that we will not
tremble but so that we will be courageous. It becomes a comfort feeling.
Love
is a feeling that is caring and committed and strong, but
it is also fragile and needs to be protected. Therefore the essence of love as
a feeling is to be selfless.
Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
