Today Reminder – 12 February 2014 (Day 8 – Love is…)

A reminder for today
The LORD rules over the floodwaters. The LORD reigns as king forever. The LORD gives his people strength. The LORD blesses them with peace. (Psalm 29:10-11)

Love is not boastful or proud…

Let us first look at the two words: Boastful is to be arrogant, immodest or self-important and proud is to be pleased, satisfied, delighted and fulfilled.

Love is all about giving and in that I mean that the “you” in the picture disappears while it is replaced with modesty and caring.  Love can never be arrogant, because love is humble. Jesus displayed this to us so clearly in His life. His loving and caring humble way opened so many eyes. Jesus showed us the way by living a life that was filled with love and giving. He did not ask anything but instead gave us everything.

A large part of boastful and proud comes from being selfish. We turn into self-people. Me and mine and I and it is all about my space and my possessions and my success. We inflate our self-image and start to seek acceptance and comfort from worldly people and material things. Our lives become a proses of wanting and desiring and needing more to be more like the picture society accepts.

My dear friend, when Jesus fills you and He is the master of the house, none of these will ever matter. The less we try to be more like the world wants us to be and the more we can focus on becoming like Jesus, the more we will be satisfied. Love should be gentle and humble and less of me and more of Him.  When love becomes our desire and we seek to live a life of love the Lord will reign over our lives and give is strength to overcome worldly and material needs.

Love will create content and content will create peace even when the floodwaters seem impossible to cross, the Lord will rule and love will overcome.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
