A
reminder for today
The
LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and
my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. (Psalm 28:7)
Love
is not jealous…
Jealousy is defined as envy, enviousness, desire,
discontent, spite, grudge, suspicion, distrust, mistrust, doubt, insecurity,
anxiety, protectiveness and defensiveness.
Being jealous indicates that we are not satisfied with
what God has given us. The Bible tells us to be content with what we have, for
God will never fail or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). In order to combat jealousy,
we need to become more like Jesus and less like ourselves. We can get to know
Him through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with mature believers. As we
learn how to serve others instead of ourselves, our hearts will begin to
change.
Love is above jealousy and love should destroy any
indications of jealousy. If you recognise any of the above synonyms of jealousy
whether it is you or someone you know, you should know that these emotions are
wrong and should not form part of us. Yet they are so common and more present
today than ever before.
The enemy knows exactly how to trick us into these
emotions and he knows once we feel jealous in any of its forms we are
vulnerable to more misguided attempts.
My dear friend, Jesus is the way and with Him in your
heart you will be able to defeat jealousy and overcome these influences and
emotions. Love should not be jealous but instead love should accept and be
contempt freeing us of all suspicion and mistrust and destroying all doubt.
When your heart belongs to Jesus and you trust Him, why should you bother
yourself with the insignificant attempts of a losing enemy?
“Don't
copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a
new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's
will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:2).
Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
Cheers
