A reminder for
today
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall
fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall
yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no
herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my
salvation. (Habakkuk 3:18-19)
The uncertainty of what lies ahead and what is going to
happen to us here in South Africa is affecting everyone around me. Yesterday
there was another discussion among my colleagues to what could happen and how
that will affect us and our current state. I can write for days on end on this
subject, but my focus here is not a political view but a Godly view. I can also
do what so many does and get angry and annoyed and stir up more hatred.
The fact remains that Jesus said we should not be surprised
when we face tribulations. Just as He suffered we will also suffer and go
through many difficult times. The only thing that so many of us keep forgetting
is that when things look murky and dark we should not fear but instead we
should keep the faith.
God will save us, and God will change this world. Yes, we
will face many troubled times and I believe things are still going to get a lot
harder, but what I know is that God will show us a way to survive though this.
He will never leave us, nor will He allow evil to destroy us. That is why I
will rejoice in the God of my salvation.
They can take our homes and destroy our county, but they can
never take Jesus from us. They can hate us and kill us and allow hate and greed
to fuel their cause, but they cannot take away our future. This is why it was
so hard for so many to understand Jesus when He preached, because He preached
love and He focussed on the fact that we must love and turn away from violence.
But I say unto you which hear, love your enemies, do good to them which hate
you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And
unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and
him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also (Luke 6).
God will show us the way, but we must love first and show
love to all. Come with me today and do not worry about tomorrow. Keep the faith
and trust God. He will deliver us from evil.
Lord, thank you for all that you do for us each and every
day. Come and save your people and deliver us from evil. Keep us safe and
change the hearts of our enemies so that they can turn back to you. Let us show
love and lead people back to you. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
