A reminder for
today
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous
runneth into it, and is safe. (Proverbs
3:18-10)
My car alarm went off twice last night and you can just
imagine the thoughts that run through your head when you hear your car alarm in
the middle of the night. This especially when you are living in South Africa. I
got up and looked outside and for a moment I thought what I would do when evil comes.
To be honest I have thought about this a few times now. What would we do?
I read the comments of people on what Malema says and his
hatred that is now fuelling more racism and I must say it is sad to see so many
comments and no solutions. We stand at a crossroad in our country and we have
the opportunity to do great things, yet we hide behind funny remarks and the blame
of our past mistakes. Every time we have the opportunity to turn around and change
history we tend to shift the blame and we do not move on.
We are so blinded by our own self that we miss the bigger picture.
Jesus had similar challenges when He was here. In His time as a rabbi the world
was oppressed by the roman empire and people were also killed for just looking
at them in an incorrect manner. The world seems to have taken a few steps
backwards, because it feels as if we are back in a similar time.
Why can we not just accept everyone the way they are and
stop hating and start building? Why can’t we just move forward and stop digging
up the past? God created all of us in His image which means that we are all His
children and He died for all of us. When He says love your neighbour He did not
say love only the black ones or the white ones or the Asian ones. He meant all
of them.
How do we break this curse? It is time that we counter the
words of hatred with words of love. It is time we fight the Malema’s (when I refer
to Malema I refer to all that are racist) of this world with the love of Jesus Christ.
It is time we stand up for Jesus and bring Him into our world. It is time that
we actually preach love and show love. It is time that we unite against
injustice and cruelty and start praying for our enemies. It is time that
Christians start being Christian and start preaching what Jesus teaches us.
You can not fight hate with more hate and why do we need to
lose more lives. Every life matters regardless of their colour or stature. Every
person has a right to life just as Jesus died for every one of us, we should stand
together for everyone. The time is now. It is time for action and not a time to
worry until the midnight hours. The name
of the Lord is a strong tower and there is power in His name. Let us use the
love of the Lord for the better of tomorrow. No one should perish.
Lord, I pray that in this day every knee will bow down and
pray for our country and this world. I pray that there will be a wave of change
in South Africa as we pray for everyone. I pray that the hearts of people will change
and that they will turn back to you. Come and heal our land and save your
people. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
