Today Reminder (Wrath) – 10 April 2018

A reminder for today
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. (Romans 12:17-19)

One of the hardest thing for most of us is to live peacefully with everyone around us. Especially in today’s world where everything is one huge urgency. Everyone is always in a hurry and no one has a moment of time for other. So, the obvious happens and people clash in the midst of their haste and this results in quarrels. Or a difference of opinions can result in an argument. The fact is that most of us are quick to anger and in most cases say or do something rather ridiculous.

What Paul writes here in Romans 12 is vital to the life we should live and display as Christians to the world around us. I am thinking as I write that the last week I have focussed so much on the way we should treat other, I am beginning to sound like a teacher. In retrospect it is still imperative that we understand the importance of what we show to the world. It is also vital that we keep the focus on love so that we will not try to repay evil with evil.

Paul makes another important statement when he says that we should not avenge ourselves, but we should leave vengeance for the Lord. He refers to Deuteronomy 32:35: To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

So, today my challenge is that you will live in peace with everyone around you and share that peace by reacting in a peaceful way to all your challenges.

Lord, fill us with your Spirit and guide us through this day. Give us the wisdom to do the right thing and bring glory to your name. in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
