Today Reminder (Cake time) – 24 April 2018

A reminder for today
Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. (Psalm 104:1-4)

This morning I brought cake to work for my birthday that was yesterday. I got my department to eat cake before nine. Now that was fun. Yesterday we visited Ugugu Primary School in Soweto on a book outreach. We gad the grade 6 learners with us as we handed books to them and played games. It is amazing to see how something so little can add so much value.

It is days like the last few with the start of my business, the amazing people I work with and the opportunity to do something good that I truly get a glimpse of how great our God is. I love Psalm 104 and when you read it you are so humbled, and you feel so small in comparison to the God that we worship.

I have written to you before that we should right size God. We should first understand the majesty of the God we worship and then we need to understand the power that He holds and the love that He has for us. God is far beyond our understanding and we do not have the capacity to comprehend how great He truly is, but we can get a glimpse.

When you read this psalm you soon realise that God is huge. He is clothed with honour and majesty. He uses light as a garment and He stretches out the heavens like a curtain. He makes the clouds His chariot and He walks upon the wings of the wind. He created the foundation of earth so that it will stand forever. He is amazing and He is the God that lives in you. This means that in you is the same power that rose Jesus from the dead.

We know these things, yet we live mediocre lives. We should live lives filled with joy and happiness. We should love other and help other. It is in these little things that we see the great God that we worship, because when we bless other He blesses us.

So, today I challenge you to leap instead of jump. To fly instead of walking and to be fearless. Let the Holy Spirit lift you up and make you a warrior. Let the glory of God break all your fears and shine over you so that you will become contagious with His glory. Let your joy be the joy that touches all around you and let you love reach even the smallest of all. Share His story and sing and dance as the day opens to you.

Lord, come and show us your glory. Fill us with your Holy spirit and let us share our joy and love with all around us. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
