Today Reminder - 31 January 2013 (A home)

A reminder for today
You must bring everything I command you—your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, your sacred offerings, and your offerings to fulfil a vow—to the designated place of worship, the place the LORD your God chooses for His name to be honoured. (Deuteronomy 12:11)

Building a house – building a home:

We are in the proses of building our own home and this made me think about a couple of things that we need to do when building our lives. You see there is a difference between a house and a home. A house could be just a place where you stay, but a home is where your heart is. It is the one place that makes you feel warm and the one place where you start your family. A home is a place where you intend to spend a long time.

A home should also be a place where you worship God and honour Him. I believe that your body and your life could be much like a home. You see to build a house you need a good foundation and in life that foundation is Jesus Christ. A house needs walls to protect you and keep out the cold and in life we need walls to protect us against the continuous fight with the enemy and this is the Word of God. Finally your house needs a roof to protect you from the elements and to finish of your home and in life we need God to be our roof so that every time we look up we know where our strength lies and where it comes from and that we will be sheltered from the storms of life.

My dear friend, may your life resemble a warm and inviting home where God reigns so that people will be tempted to visit.

I pray that God will be your home and that your home will be God, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder - 30 January 2013 (Be nice)

A reminder for today
He ensures that orphans and widows receive justice. He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing. So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt. (Deuteronomy 10:18-19)

Be nice:

It is not nice when someone is nasty to you or when someone is angry at you and most of all it is terrible when you are going through a tough time and no one seems to notice. Jesus made it very clear that next to God we must love our neighbours. Moses speaks to the Israelite people telling them that God loves the foreigners among them which mean that they too must care for them and love them.

My dear friend, there is nothing as powerful as an understanding heart and helping hand. It is in giving that we will truly see the power of God’s love. God loves each and every one equally so let us follow His example and give a little love and spread the joy. Come with me today as we take God’s love to those who need it. Be nice, smile, laugh and spread the cheer. Let God truly shine from within you.

I pray that you will be a burning light of God’s love and rudder to steer the lost in the right direction, in Jesus name.

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him!" (John 14:6-7)

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder - 29 January 2013 (Require)

A reminder for today
"And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the LORD your God, and live in a way that pleases Him, and love Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul.” (Deuteronomy 10:12)

What does the LORD your God require of you?

Jesus summarized the entire law in basically two sentences in Matthew 22:  Jesus replied, "'You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. ‘This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments."

Moses summarized it also in very much the same way. He also said that you must love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and soul.  Let’s look at the meaning of the word “love” – Love: An intense feeling of deep affection. To love the Lord your God means to have an intense feeling of deep affection for Him and together with that Moses said you must fear the Lord and this is out of respect for who He is. Jesus said that you must love Him with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind, meaning that there must be no space between you and God. God must fill your very being.

My dear friend, God requires that you love Him and that your heart, soul and mind belong to Him. This lifestyle is not an easy one and one that requires hard work from within us. I believe that on our knees we will truly find the meaning of loving God completely, and living a life like that will bear fruit wherever you find yourself. This is the life we must desire.

I pray that you will live a life that reflects the true meaning of love for God and that God will see your heart and bless you for your dedication to Him, in Jesus name.

I leave you with this final thought from Romans 14: "'As surely as I live,' says the LORD, 'every knee will bend to me,  and every tongue will confess and give praise to God.'"

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder - 28 January 2013 (Old habits)

A reminder for today
"But I assure you of this: If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods, worshiping and bowing down to them, you will certainly be destroyed.” (Deuteronomy 8:19)

Old habits:

They say old habits die hard and that you cannot teach an old dog new tricks. In life we are much the same, we change our lives and give our hearts to the Lord, but ever so often those old habits creep in and we loosen our grip on the Lord and we allow our emotions to get the better of us.

It is when we seem to forget the Lord and try and walk on our own when we become vulnerable and the enemy moves in to push us over the edge. These are the times when we get angry or when we are jealous or annoyed or irritated and we slip and make mistakes.

My dear friend, do not forget the Lord in your daily journey. On our own we will not be strong enough to withstand the evil in this world and on our own we will fall. With God we are an unstoppable force and a difficult target. Do not let the influences of this world get the better of you, but place your trust in the Lord and confirm your dependence on Him each day.

I pray that you will start each day with the Lord and that you will be strong against the evils of this world, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder - 25 January 2013 (Grateful)

A reminder for today
When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you. (Deuteronomy 8:10)

Grateful:

It is customary to say “Thank you” when someone gives you something or helps you. We have grown accustomed to the phrase and we tend to use it quite easily. How many times have God done something for us and we just accepted it without thanking Him for it.

Moses makes it quite clear to the Israelite people that they must not forget to praise God for their land, especially when they have it in abundance. This is a common mistake from us and one I urge you to change. We need to praise God more for the things we have. From the smallest to the largest, it all comes from God and from His mercy and love.
My dear friend, let’s make a point of thanking God more often and giving Him glory for the things we have and the things we do. From our jobs to our homes and from our kids to the food we eat each day. Let’s be thankful and lift up His name for the glory of our God.

I pray that you will have a grateful heart that will rejoice for the glory of our God and I thank God for your friendship and all the wonderful talents He blessed each one of us with, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
