reminder for today
God
is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His
mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not
carried it through? (Numbers 23:19)
God, my New Year’s resolution:
This time of the year people make New Year’s resolutions
and start working on them very eagerly. I thought about it yesterday when all
of the sudden the gym was full of new faces. You see, every year we start with
a new page and hoping to be better than the year before. Most people start
their year with a plan to improve on their health by going to the gym. We see
it every year. They start with bang and after a few weeks their visits to the
gym become less frequent and finally autumn arrive and gone are their dreams.
When we give our hearts to Jesus we are a lot like
someone with a new year’s resolution. We start passionately and as time goes by
that passion seem to fade. God on the other hand, never changes. He is always
the same, and He will never change His mind.
My dear friend, let’s make our New Year’s resolution to
be more like God. To be closer to Him, to be more consistent like Him, to not
change our minds, to never stop and never quit, to keep our promises and show
His light to the world. Whatever your New Year’s resolutions are, do not give
up on them, even when you feel that you cannot carry on with them, don’t stop. In
the end, this victory will boost your confidence and surly bring you closer to
God.
Come with me today as we set our eyes on God to be more
like Him. You are a champion at heart, I know it!
