Today Reminder (Foundation) – 6 September 2017

A reminder for today
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)

It is fight to stay awake time. Last night I must have slept barely four hours as our work burden increases and our time decreases. Why is it important to have the right foundation? When you look at buildings, they need a good foundation to sustain them and to keep them standing. A bad foundation will soon be noted with cracks in the walls and areas where the house starts to sink. A house with a bad foundation can crumble and fall. Paul speaks to the church in Corinth about the foundation a church must be built on and He make it explicitly clear that Jesus is the only foundation for any church that we build on Christian standards.

Paul continues to say in verse 16: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Paul pulls us back to remind us that we are the temple of God, because in us dwells the Spirit of God. This means that you must be sure that you build your temple on the right foundation. Jesus is our foundation and He is an unbreakable and unmovable foundation that will withstand any storm. We look at the news and we see how people are making preparations for the coming hurricane Irma. In life we face many terrible storms so it is imperative that your foundation will stay strong through these troubled times.

How do we do that? Well it is quite simple, when you accepted Jesus as your saviour He gave you the Holy Spirit to help you, but He also became your foundation that anchors you. But we need to maintain that foundation, because the Jesus foundation is a relationship that needs work. We need to spend time in prayer and continually work towards a Christ like attitude. Our live must duplicate His Word and teachings and we need to make these part of our lives and part of who we are. A continuous trust relationship with the Lord will strengthen your foundation to the extend where no storm can topple you.

Come with me as we build on our foundation in prayer and trust.

Lord, teach us to strengthen our foundation in you and let the Holy Spirit guide us and remind us to pray more and spend more time with you. Let us read your word more often and fill our minds and hearts with your teachings. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
