A reminder for
today
And God saw every
thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the
morning were the sixth day. (Genesis 1:31)
I have written to you on so many occasions about these words
- it was very good. God made this
world and when He looked at His creation He said that it is good. Good meaning
that it was perfect. Genesis is probably the most attacked book of the Bible. God’s
word against man’s word. Evolution is man’s word on how life came to be without
God. Evolution meaning that a single cell organism came from random chemicals
and through natural selection over millions of years diversified into what we
see today.
Evolution in the way that things change is possible, but I do not
believe a single cell organism made all of this. So, we see more people accepting
evolution and disregarding God’s word. It is our job to defend and protect God’s
word. God gave us rules and laws that we abide by that comes from His word. If evolution
was true where would we get these rules. Evolution is about the strong
dominating the weak, where laws are there to protect the weak from the strong. Who
would be the law giver if evolution was correct? Evolution is anti-law looking
at fornication and abortion.
Jesus quoted Genesis more than any other book of the Bible. This
makes you think that this should be important. If Genesis is not true then many
of our doctrines will not be true like marriage. Many accept the Bible to the
extent that it fits in their framework. Genesis is not a parable nor is it a
metaphor. It is a factual history book. It has genealogies
and lists of names so that we can see these people lived and when they
lived. It is literal history and these genealogies goes all the way up to
Jesus.
Even the gospel message is connected to Genesis, because of Adam’s
sin Jesus came to free us from sin. That good news only makes sense if we
understand the bad news. We cannot reject the history of the Bible, because it
is historically correct so we can trust its morality.
God said it is good and it is. He made it and we brought sin
into it. God’s perfect world was corrupted by sin to turn it into a world
headed for destruction. But in all of this we have the promise of a new heaven
and a new earth. A new perfect world that will be good for all of us, who accepted
Jesus. And the best part is that it is forever. For a short while we will be
here and then we will be with our Lord forever. Therefore, let us continue to
defend that which is good. Let us defend the word of God and let us defend our
Lord Jesus Christ. When God looks at you He also says – it is good. You are in
His image and you are perfect. Let your perfection in Him be the light for
other.
Lord, help us to defend you. Send your Spirit to guide us
and teach us to defend your word and stand up for you in this corrupted world. Let
us be your voice. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
