A reminder for
today
Now unto the King
eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever
and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:17)
Yesterday was a public holiday here in South Africa. It is
called Heritage Day where South Africans are reminded of their heritage, since
we are called the rainbow nation. The Lord blessed this day by sending us rain
in what was quite a little storm last night. Although the country celebrates
their heritage our heritage is in one. You see we are all one in Jesus and this
is our actual heritage. Yes, I may be South African and you are American or
Canadian or Russian or any other nation, but in Jesus we are one. We are all
made in God’s image so we are all alike and yes, we are all saved by the same
grace and we are all loved equally.
You see God does not have favourites, we are all His
favourites. So, when we celebrate Heritage Day we are actually celebrating the
wonders and power of our eternal, immortal and invincible King. It is all for
Him, because all the glory and honour is for our God.
Therefore, on this wonderful and grace filled Tuesday I want
you to take a closer look at the one in the mirror. You see when you look at
yourself you don’t always see what is really there. So, let me give you a
little insight next time you look into the mirror.
The face starring back at you is created. It is carefully
designed and perfected out of love. You may see imperfections, but God sees
only perfection. You may look at it with disappointment, but God looks at you
and He sees possibilities. You may feel worthless, but God sees someone He gave
His son for and He sees the true worth of who you are. You may think you are
not good enough, but God knows that you are bound for greatness. You may want
to change who you are and how you look, but God thinks you are beautiful and
wonderful.
It is time you look at that person and see them for who they
really are. You are amazing and do not let anyone makes you think otherwise. Your
heritage is from God and you are holy and righteous and godly. In you lives a
living and powerful God. Let His glory shine. Be who God sees and not who the
enemy wants you to see.
Lord, we thank you for all the amazing gifts and blessings
we receive from you each day. Thank you for blessing us with another day to our
lives and another opportunity to bring glory and honour to you. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
