A reminder for
today
In the multitude
of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. (Proverbs 10:19)
Big words, big words do not make you a genius. One thing I
know is that the Lord does not like an arrogant man. Arrogance is a massive
problem and brings so many good people to a fall. So many of us are blessed
with amazing talents, yet we miss the fact that God gave us these talents and
nothing that we do out of our self is the cause of what we are or what are able
to do. For example: you cannot buy a singing voice nor can you decide what you
should look like. God makes each one of us unique and He blesses each one of us
with a number of talents. But talent alone does not bring success. It takes
hours and days of work for a singer to be great and it takes hours of training
for athletes to be the best. This type of success can so easily fuel arrogance
and to be honest an arrogant athlete is not a very popular one.
Therefore, I would say that one who keeps a guard before his
lips and thinks before he talks are a wise person. And he that remains humble
are far greater than he that makes himself greater than what he is. Humility
and wisdom goes hand in hand. I always say if you have nothing good to say
maybe you should rather keep quiet and think about what is really needed in
this conversation.
We can say the wrong thing so easily and especially when we
are tired and irritated we remove all filters and the words just blabber out. To
refrain from saying the wrong thing and carefully calculating what will make a
better impact is a sign of great humility and wisdom.
A wise man accepts correction and direction, but a fool is covered
in arrogance and sees no value in truth. Sounds familiar now doesn’t it. We are
all tired in and the tempers are so quick to fire up and fight at this stage,
so today my reminder is for me.
Today I want you to think before you talk and listen when
needed. Be humble at all times and give God all the glory for all that you do
and all that you achieve. It is by Him and through Him that all is and all will
be.
Lord, thank you for all the guidance and strength that you
give us and especially thank you for all the wonder we see of your glory each
day. Lord, let your will be done and let your kingdom come. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
