A reminder for
today
For ye are bought
with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are
God's. (1 Corinthians 6:20)
Today was a typical day in South Africa. First some rich
executive tried to run me over at the gym with his big Mercedes, then on the
way home some guy was annoyed because I dare took too long so that he could
turn and then on the way to school we were in a hurry and landed up behind a
student that was driving while talking on his phone and smoking at the same
time. Sadly, we ended up behind another person that was in no hurry and finally
we arrived at school and then there was lots of parking for no reason. Weird
morning. So, I sat for a moment and wondered what happened. You can’t say God
is not full of surprises. I felt like giving the Mercedes driver a piece of my
mind, yet the Holy Spirit guided me away. I felt like driving over the student
but the Holy Spirit kept me calm. When we ended up behind the last one I was
ready to explode, but the Holy Spirt reminded me that God is in control and I am
here to glorify Him in body and in spirit. The open parking bays at the school
was just unreal.
The problem with this world is that we think we own
everything and that the rest are here to sing praises to us, because it is our
time our money and our way. We do it the right way and we get irritated when
things do not go our way. We do not wait for God, God should wait for us. We do
not need to trust Him, He must just deliver, because we want and we need and we
require and we do not like inconvenience. You see all the me's, I's, we's and us's in
that. Well that is our biggest mistake. We forget the price God paid so that we
can have this freedom. We forget who God is and we forget how little we
actually are. It is arrogance and our very important ego’s that we should work
on.
How can we glorify God when we only see ourselves? How can
we be generous when our own needs are more important than God’s needs? How can
we show Jesus to this world when all we see is our own self? How can we show
God’s grace and mercy when we do not trust Him?
The price that was paid for you is much greater than you
will ever know. Let us take a moment and get our perspective right and remember
who God is. Let us take this time and remove the “me” from the equation and
replace it with God. It is all about Him and His glory. The moment we
understand this is the moment we can truly trust Him and move away from the
principals of this world to the perceptions of what God wants. The enemy is
here to confuse us, so let the Holy Spirit be your guide and the one you listen
to. Ignore the enemy and he will flee from you. Accept God’s guidance and you
will see this world for what it is - a mere moment that will not last.
Lord, fill us anew with your Holy Spirit and guide us today
with your word and your voice so that we can hear your heart and glorify you. It
is all about you, Lord. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
