A reminder for
today
Ask, and it shall
be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For
every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that
knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)
It was night and it was morning the next day. How are you,
my friend? This week is terrible as I rush to get my work done so that I can
move over to the bugs after the software is tested. I guess we all get that “I
wish it was weekend” feeling every now and then. I feel like I can do with a
holiday, a weekend is just too short. It is a beautiful day here in Pretoria
and we have a clear (chilly) blue sky as the sun sets in to brighten up and
warm up the day. It is difficult to think there are so many people that is
against Jesus and that there as so many lies they use to influence other.
Jesus said that when you ask it will be given and when you
knock the door will be opened and when you seek you will find. It is then
ironic that many atheists seek God and they find Him. There are so many books
of ex-atheists that found Jesus when they looked. I guess some of us knock but
walk away before the door opens and some of us ask, but we turn away before it
is given. So, when they seek and they seek with a heart that does not want to
find they will never find. Jesus said that we must tell all of the good news. We
must tell, but in the end, they must find it for themselves. It is like leading
a horse to water. We can’t make it drink if it does not want to. We can give
all the evidence you could ever need, but if you love this life and this world
and the sin of this world then you will not stay to find.
I have said before that man wants to be God. Even in the
garden of Eden man was tempted into sin by these words – “For God doth know
that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and
evil”.
You see man does not want to turn from his evil ways and
accept the way of God. Man wants to be god and he will follow any lie to be
just that. Just look at how many times the Israelites turned away from God
after they left Egypt. How many times were they punished when someone attacked
them and destroyed them, because they turned from God to the god’s of man. Then
God had to send a prophet to lead them back so that God can save them. Just think
for a moment how many times do we sin in a day and then God needs to guide us
back with His Holy Spirit so that we can find again.
How do we break man’s god syndrome? It is simple, we need to
remind man that he is made in God’s image and not to be god. We need to remind
man that Jesus died and overcome this world so that man can turn away from sin
and back to God. We need to let the Holy Spirit do His work and slowly break
the walls of arrogance so that the man can be seen clearly again. We need to
fight this battle on our knees and break the lies of the enemy by fighting for
Jesus every chance we get. Then the next day will not just be a day, but the
day of our Lord.
Lord, help us to help other find you and help us to teach patience
in the way we are and the way we live. All the glory is for you, Lord and we
pray that you will help us to stand and tell all of the wonder of your mercy and
the gift we have in you. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
