A reminder for
today
See that none
render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both
among yourselves, and to all men. (1 Thessalonians 5:15)
I am up early today, because there is just too much to do.
So, I am writing to you from a quiet and dark Pretoria. I loved to say that an
early bird catches the worm. It is so important that you start your day with Jesus.
The world is full of evil and evil is just waiting to hurt your heart and bring
you down. Paul writes here that we should never repay evil with evil, but that
we should rather seek and follow that which is good.
Now I would say Paul wants us to follow that which Jesus
showed us by the good that He did and the way He lived here on earth. It is
also important that we seek good both for ourselves and for all other. Now,
when you are an early bird and you start your day with Jesus, you are giving
yourself armour against evil and a window to good.
Today is Friday the 13th, and to me just another
day, but this is a day for evil and weird beliefs. It is scary how many people
will allow the enemy a foothold on a day like this and believe all kinds of nonsense
just because everybody does it. The enemy is going to have a laugh at all of
them, but with us he is going to fall short. You see for us this day is just another
day given to us by the grace of our Lord. It has no meaning other than the
mercy and love of our creator and God.
Therefore, today I give you a small challenge. Start your day
with Jesus and do only good. By that I mean speak only what is good and
uplifting to other and do not allow evil to hinder your journey. Speak life
over other and steer well away from saying anything bad. Repay evil with good
and you will see how evil will perish. Love overcomes all. Out of love Jesus
broke the ties of sin and defeated this world. Let us show Him today and break
the hold of the enemy over people.
Lord, this is the day you made and nothing should alter
that. Let us show you to all and break the grip of the enemy over your people. Let
us use love and to repay all and let us speak life over all. Let us bring glory
to you in all that we do today. In Jesus name.
