91 Days of Victory – Day 68 (2026/05/06)

 

But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy. Rejoice is the centre of this verse in Psalm 68. Have you ever had a day when you woke up you were already overwhelmed at what lies ahead and knowing the hours available to you and the schedule that lies ahead it all seems impossible. You are frustrated with work, traffic, laundry, your finances and at a point it all seems to bundle together and hit you all at the same time. You are overwhelmed and frustrated and it feels as if this also is all at once. My dear friend, you are not alone. I have many of these days and honestly, I wish the answer was a simple one or even a five-point plan to financial freedom. You know like those guys on YouTube that sells you the idea that if you follow these steps, you will be a millionaire. And then there are steps to perfect health and complete peace and mental stability. I am sorry but my wires are never in line, nor do they go through a day without a few sparks and near shutdown. Coffee is not the answer, drugs and alcohol is even further away from the answer and jumping is going to cause even more problems because I will probably just break a leg and then I am disabled. So, NO! Bad idea(s). So, where is the answer? Will you believe me when I say – Jesus Christ. Let me give it some personal context. Now we all know the scripture – “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour”. Plus, we all know this one – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy”. Now would you believe me if I tell you that the strategy of the enemy, although cunning, has not changed in seven thousand years. Here is food for thought; the minute you were born a familiar spirit was allocated to you to get to know you. Now think about that for a minute, he knows what makes you angry, upset, hurts you, overwhelms you, frustrates you, bothers you, makes you fall, your weaknesses, your needs, your faults, your past for that matter and what makes you happy. Now with that in mind why would he wait for the right moment when he can start the plan days before you get to the point of giving up. So, yes, his plans are the same always, he just tries a different (and most times the same) angle. Then I guess we all know this scripture – “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you”. So, how do we do that, the whole resist and flee part. Well, we have an example in the Bible, and we find it in Matthew 4 where Jesus was tempted by satan. Jesus simply said - “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God ” (Deuteronomy 8:3). How do we do that, well the answer lies in our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Yes, we can get angry and overwhelmed and complain and talk to people about this and it will probably make it worse. The moment you realise this is an attack on you, then and immediately turn to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, you will find satan does not like that. I simply say – “Holy Spirit please help” and then I explain myself even though I know the Holy Spirit already knows all of my issues but it helps so that I finally get to this point (and yes we all know this one) – “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. And then His peace flows over me, and I get things done in the half of the time and all things work out for good. I testify to this not once, but many times. So, trust me on this and try it, you are not destined to fail but to be victorious in Jesus Christ. Have an awesome day.
