Today Reminder – 26 December 2016

A reminder for today
And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them. (Luke 2:6-7)

How was your Christmas, my friend? I do hope you had a blessed time and that you could celebrate the birth of our Lord. Funny thing is that we might have the date wrong if you listen to the clever people and you compare the Jewish calendar to our calendar. But what is the reason we would take a date (maybe the wrong one) and celebrate it as if we won a massive prize. It is because we celebrate the change of who we are are and how we live. Before Jesus came so many were doomed and lost, because of the distance that was created by man against the Lord. Jesus came and gave a new perspective and  new hope. He changed the way the world looked at God and became one of us so that we can be one with Him.

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven's Armies will make this happen! (Isaiah 9:6-7)

Jesus changed everything by giving us the greatest gift any person could ever receive. The gift of life and freedom. So we celebrate this day as we should every other day and no matter what the clever people say, we celebrate because we have bee changed by this gift and in our gifts we will change other as they see Him and meet Him through His love.

The world is a dark and terrible place, but when we celebrate Christmas we crack holes into this darkness and we bring in the light of our Lord and everywhere He touches life explodes. So, yes let’s celebrate more and make a big deal of this, because Jesus is a big deal.

Lord, as we continue to celebrate your gift to us let our hearts touch those in the dark and bring about change in their lives. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Today Reminder – 23 December 2016

A reminder for today
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. (Luke 6:38)

It is mere hours before Christmas and everywhere people are getting ready for their Christmas celebrations. So all I want to remind you of is that a life for Jesus is a life of giving. Giving of your time, giving of your friendship, giving of your ears to listen, giving of your heart to care and giving where there is need. Jesus made it very clear that you shall receive when you give. It reminds me of something I wrote to you a while back. It is called the open hand character. You see to receive you must have an open hand and an open hand gives at the same time, where a closed hand cannot give nor can it receive. What is quite important is that you read this verse carefully. Note:  The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. So when you give a little from your abundance then you are not giving all that much, but when you do not have much yet you give with a loving heart you will receive in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap.

Here in South Africa many of us have a domestic lady (Maid) that comes in maybe once of twice a week to help with the ironing and cleaning of our homes. It is a privilege and many of these domestic workers live very hard lives with very little. Our domestic worker has been complaining about here roof, because after the storms we had her roof was damaged badly. So we decided to help here repair her roof and help her buy new doors for her home so that she can live a little better. Besides that we help with food and clothes on a monthly basis and I can say that we do it because of our faith, because just as the Lord blesses us we are now able to bless her. And by our way of life she will see Jesus for who He really is. A loving God and an amazing God.

So today I want you to give a little and share a little of the heart of Jesus with other. It is much nicer to give than to receive.

Lord, I pray that you will bless each one of us reading your blog and that you will return what we give in full pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into our laps as we give all that we are for you. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus and merry Christmas to you and your family. May the love our Lord shine brightly over your festive day and I pray that you will all be safe as you travel and may the Lord bless all of you in abundance.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 22 December 2016

A reminder for today
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. (Colossians 3:10)

How are you today, my friend? Last night our dishwasher also broke. It is quite old and has given us many good years, but it just shows you how the enemy is constantly busy with his little attacks to get to you. He knows finances are always an issue with people so he loves to knock us where we are quick to get negative. But instead of letting him get his way I will put on my new nature and learn more about my creator so that I can be more like Him. Especially now when we celebrate the birth of our Lord.

So today I want you to come with me as we take of the things of this world and the things the enemy uses to hurt us and put on your new nature. Let the Spirit come and renew us so that we will desire to know more and learn more of our Lord.

Lord, today I pray that you will be with each one of us as we face more challenges in a month filled with celebrations. I pray that you will bless each one of us and lead us on to be free from our burdens. I pray for financial freedom so that the enemy will l have no hold on us. Break the grip of the dark forces and fill us with your light so that we can be a beacon of hope. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
