91 Days of Victory – Day 55 (2026/04/23)

Please listen and answer me, for I am overwhelmed by my troubles. When you start the Psalm, you can see how David is afflicted by his circumstances and the betrayal of those close to him. Our theme mainly this week is gratitude and living with a grateful attitude and recognising the things in our lives that we normally miss. Now looking at this verse I can relate so much to it and how David is tormented by the lies and deceit and wickedness of people close to him. Loving someone and to find out they are deceitful and they plan your demise can be a rude awakening. You know David writes in verse 6 “Oh, that I had wings like a dove; then I would fly away and rest! I would fly far away to the quiet of the wilderness”. I can’t tell you how many times this year I felt exactly like that. If I had wings, I would just fly away and go somewhere like a wilderness and just get away from all this nonsense. But that is not what I want you to see here, I want you to see his heart when he says, “But I will call on God, and the LORD will rescue me”. This is where we should run to. This is where we will find our rest and our peace. This is where we will find the answers and this is where we will see victory over all the things that so unexpectantly enters into our lives. This is where we find strength and this is where we find hope and a future. My dear friend, I wish I could say a word and all your troubles will vanish and all your pain and hurt will be gone. What I can do is to tell you how to overcome them and how to defeat them and how to find true healing and true restoration. In a grateful heart we are humbled again and we open our souls to God and His amazing love. Romans 8 Paul writes “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them”. All things not some things but all things will work out for good. I can honestly testify to this because it is truly so. My dear friend, God’s thoughts about you are like the sand of the ocean, impossible to comprehend and those thoughts are of peace to give you a future and a hope. Know it and believe it. Have an awesome day.
