It is quite
a battle to write my blog the last few days. I am tired and we are still
working on this project that seems to never end and then to really push me to
my limits I got sick yesterday and woke up in the middle of the night with a cold
fever. You know when you get cramps and then you are freezing but sweating at
the same time. I woke up this morning, and it felt like a truck and a bus ran
me over.
If you have
been following my blog you will know that I am currently in this massive and
terrible court case that my ex-wife started. Last week God moved so many things
in place, and we can finally force the evaluation of my daughter with a forensic
psychiatrist (with the help of a new high court judgement).
Over the
weekend I could feel my energy take a dive and I felt just like Elijah after he
called down fire from heaven and destroyed the prophets of Baal. When Jezebel
came for him, he ran away and ended up in the wilderness. “But he
himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a
broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now,
LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!” (1
Kings 19:4).
I honestly felt like that part – It is enough now. It is
amazing how we can step out in victory to end up a few days later in
depression. And then I got sick. Oh, my goodness what a sight for sore eyes. Yes,
and we can feel very sorry for ourselves when we feel just totally and completely
exhausted.
The Holy Spirit keeps putting this verse in my head from Deuteronomy
31:8: "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will
never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
That is why my verse today is Psalm 24:3, “Oh, magnify the
LORD with me,
And let us exalt His name together”.
What do we do when we feel like this? When the battle feels too
much? When we are exhausted? When we do not want to carry on? When we want to
give up?
Then we magnify the Lord. We exalt His name and we sing
praises to our God. The enemy wants us to give up but God is in the fight with
us and this feeling you feel now is the enemy telling you lies wanting you to
think you are alone and you can not go on anymore. It is the enemy that is
trying to steal your joy, your victory and your strength.
My dear friend, we exalt God for we can do all things
through Jesus Christ who strengthens us. Come with me as we sing praises to our
Lord and worship Him. If God is for us, who can be against us.
Have an awesome day.
