In the Bible, purpose centres on knowing God, bringing Him
glory, and serving others. Humanity’s ultimate calling is to love God, love
others, and walk in the good works He created us for. Ultimately, life's
meaning is found in aligning with God’s overarching plan rather than personal,
selfish ambition. Now that is google’s thoughts around Biblical purpose.
In Ezekiel 36:26 God says, “I will give you a new heart and
put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh
and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to
walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them”.
In Psalm 33:4 we read, “For the word of the LORD is
right and true; he is faithful in all he does”.
Now when we continue on purpose lets have a look at Biblical
purpose. So, let’s take a step back. When you give your heart to Jesus and you
accept Him as your Saviour the Holy Spirit enters. God says here in Ezekiel
that He will give you a new heart and He will put His Spirit in you. When God made
Adam, he was a lifeless body until God (Holy Spirit) breathed on him. That is
why Jesus said you must be born again. You literally die to the old life
(carnal) and enter into a new life (spirit driven) by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if
anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”.
Jesus said in John 3:3, Jesus answered and said to
him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God.”
When Jesus enters purpose in not just altered, it is assigned.
Our hearts change and by studying the Word and spending time with the Holy
Spirit our nature is also altered, and we become purpose driven for Jesus
through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Please bear with me I am getting somewhere. We saw on Saturday
that Purpose according to the dictionary is the reason for which something
is done, created, or exists.
Now when we give our lives to Jesus, we start to exist for purpose.
Purpose is not a question anymore but a way of life. Purpose is not a suggestion
but a reality. We are no longer confused in purpose, but purpose gets life through
us. We do not seek it anymore, we live it. We become purpose.
My dear friend, to follow Jesus is not just a Sunday thing. It
is an every moment thing. That is why we seek God (Holy Spirit) first and He is
our place of safety. That is why we can say as David in Psalm 33 states, “Our
soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For
our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name”.
Have an awesome day.
