Reflections of faith (The right way) – 6 February 2019

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

I woke up this morning with a happy heart. I am tired but I am happy. How many ways are there? Life is simple, because there is right way and a wrong way. The problem is how we calculate the right way. What is the right way and how do we know what is the wrong way? The moral question has been a well debated issue in the atheist world. You see, as Christian we know that God created moral values and His word is the basis of what we see as morally correct today. But man corrupts the moral compass by pushing God out and modifying it to suit his own selfish needs.

So, when you watch the media and the outside world you get a very corrupted view of what is right and what is wrong. In fact, it is wrong, but we can argue it correct if it becomes a human rights issue. So being gay is correct, but having an affair is wrong. Having multiple partners before you get married is acceptable, just as long as you stay faithful to the one you decide to marry. How did the world get so confused and why do we allow this when we all read the same Bible? 

The problem with modern society is that they will manipulate the Bible for their own benefit. This makes being a parent or a Christian so much harder. We know what the Word teaches, yet we conform to the world and we accept. We forget that there is only one way.

Jesus said that He is the way and the truth and the life. He is the only way to the Father and if He is your way then all His teachings apply to your life. This means if it is wrong it is wrong and we should not turn away from it and allow the world around us to influence us purely because it is what the worldly norm is. 

Jesus also said that He is the truth. He is the son of God and in Him we have complete freedom. In Him we are separated from the sinful world and united with the Godly realm. We become righteous in the sense that we are washed clean and a completely new creation. 

Jesus said He is the life. Once we are converted or made over by His grace, we see life differently and suddenly we live. We truly live because we see the prize that awaits us in doing His will. We live because there is no burden that holds us back from His love. We live, because we suddenly understand the value of life and the end that awaits those who are still lost.

Come with me today as we live life fully for His glory and His honour.

Reflections of faith (Joyful) – 5 February 2019

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. (Psalm 98:4)

I am so blessed. God is really good to me and in past few weeks I have seen His grace like never before. I have seen how His spirit just transforms me and rebuilds me into a totally new me. I am at peace and I am getting stronger with every moment. I live to show Him, and I live to glorify Him and in that I have so much more joy that ever before. I did not know you can be this happy.

Work is hectic and we are about to release again so things are a bit on the stormy side, but in the midst of all these waves I have a remarkable peace within me. I have totally given me to the Lord and I fully trust Him for every day. My joy is in the Lord.

Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

When you fully submit and truly give your heart to the Lord and you transfer all fears and all your burdens and challenges over to Him, you become new. A new creation. This means that all the old things are gone. Paul used “passed away” so in other words dead. 

Then he says all things becomes new. This means that you are made new completely and totally. This is an awesome feeling. I love it. So, today I will make joyful noise and rejoice in my Lord while I sing praises. Come with me, my friend, as we sing praises to the creator of heaven and earth. The one who gave His life so that we can be free. Let there flow rivers of life giving water from within us as we change the world around us, one day at a time.

Reflections of faith (Gain) – 4 February 2019

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

How was your weekend, my friend? Mine was great! I took my boys and we visited my Mom and Dad. I love the drive down to them and to just take in the beauty of our country. The roads are terrible, but the scenery is awesome. The drive back is never nice, because it means that I have to take my kids to their mom for her week. Never a nice feeling and I think I will never get used to it. I miss them way too much. 

God is so good to me and He has done some pretty amazing things in my life the past few weeks. Every morning I wake up with that immense feeling of gratitude. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. 

Paul writes that to live is Christ and to die is gain. We often forget that this life is a mere moment and the life that is after this one is eternal. So, for me it is something I look forward to, but more so do I want to live a life that glorifies my Lord. A life that is not only lived but one that resembles a living God. They say a heart that is broken is a heart that loved. And a heart that loves is a life lived. 

All I want to do is love my kids and give them an example of a God-fearing father that lives for the glory and honour of His God. I want to live this life for Christ in such a way that everyone will see Him in me and that my children will remember it. To me that is a life lived, when people will say that I lived for God and that I was never selfish but that I gave it all for those I love and for my Lord. 

I do not want to leave a legacy and I do not care if the world never knows me, but I want those I meet and those I love to see Jesus in me. To me that is gain and to die is gain and finally I will be with my Father. I will gladly give this life for His glory and for His honour. Jesus is the only way and the only name I want people around me to know and to remember.
