Today's thought - 29 June 2026 (Live more)

 

Our scripture comes from Jeremiah 5 today and our Pastor spoke of a “Better life” yesterday. Now I do hope you had a great weekend and that you are up and ready for this week. Monday, right. Well, most people see Monday as doom and gloom and after the weekend they always dread a Monday hence the popular saying, “Its Monday” and with that they add all the negative stuff that is happening.

Well, I am going to throw a brick in that and tell that it’s not because it’s Monday, no my friend it is because your enemy, the devil, walks around like a lion ready to destroy. Our Pastor pointed to this scripture in John 10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy”.

That is exactly why Mondays, or any other day can become quite a challenge. So, the thief comes to destroy, but the verse goes on….

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

So, what does Jesus say. He says, yes, this guy (the devil) is going to try and take your joy and your peace and your stuff, but I (Jesus) have come to change that so that through me you will have real life. Not artificial worldly nonsense but real life, real joy, real hope and a real future. And more so, you will have it abundantly.

Now let’s look at my verse in Jeremiah 5, “Do you not fear Me?’ says the LORD.
‘Will you not tremble at My presence, who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it? And though its waves toss to and fro, yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it”.

God says here He placed the sand in the ocean, and the waves comes and goes but they cannot pass over it.

This is what I want to tell you today. Fear God with respect and love and honour Him with your time and your blessings. Give Him first place, in other words seek first God above all else and then He will put you in a place of safety as the enemy comes in waves to try and steal from you, but he will not prevail. He will surely fail and the light of Jesus that is in you will remove all darkness and you will sure have a better life every day and you will have more joy because if God is for us, who can be against us.
