I have to
quote this scripture again, “And we know that all things work together
for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”
(Romans 8:28). As I am reading Psalm 63 today and I think about the challenges I
face, and you know when we face battles we tend to think about our past and the
mistakes, we made. Those forgotten and those that still haunts us today. I have
made many mistakes and I still do. Paul writes that no one is good not even one
and Jesus also said that no one is good, but we are made right by the sacrifice
Jesus made for us. We can never defeat sin, so Jesus did it for us. Therefore, be
cheerful for Jesus has already overcome the world. Now in verse 8 David writes,
“I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely”. If I may take my
kids as an example. When they were little and my daughter still is, they would
run to you when they are afraid or hurt and they would cling to you, knowing
that you will do something about their fear or their hurt. They instinctively
seek out their parents for help when they have to deal with something that is
too much for them at that age. Now that instinct is supported by love and
authority, because you love your kids and instinctively you are wired to protect
them. Now I am getting to something, stay with me. Jesus said in Matthew 7, “How
much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask
Him”. How much more does your Father know what you need, so if He created us to
instinctively protect our children and they instinctively run to us when in
danger or in need, then when David says I cling to the Father (like a child for
we are His children) then He will protect us by His strong right hand (His power
and authority) and then all things will work out for good because the reason we
cling to Him is because we love Him and when we delight in Him, He will make it
all come to pass. In other words when we seek Him (cling) above all else
everything else will be added (given or receive). So, my dear friend, come with
me today as we cling to the Father and be anxious for nothing, but in
everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be
made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Have an awesome day.
