Today Reminder – 30 June 2017

A reminder for today
If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. (1 John 2:29)

Selflessness. Now here is a challenge for today. One of the hardest things for people is to take the “self” out of every situation. I am a type of person that loves to do things by myself and if I do not have control over it, I suffer. In every life situation team work becomes an important part of how we show Jesus to the world. I fail miserably at this. You see team work creeps in almost any place whether it is friendship, a relationship or at work and even in sports and partners. God knows all about working together, because He is the ultimate example in His trilogy. The Father and the Son and the Spirit works as one.

Our problem is the “I” or “me” in our lives. It is my needs and my work and my time and my money and my car and my way. Yet Jesus said that we should love our neighbour as ourselves. This means that we should treat the other party as the “I” or the “me”. It all changes when we take our own needs out and replace it with the needs of Jesus. What He said and what He taught and how He loves. You see we can’t call ourselves Christians if our selves are more important than those around us. If we can’t tolerate each other and work to achieve a single goal how can we show Jesus to other.

When we tell people of Jesus we focus on His act of love when He gave His life for us, yet we cannot give a single moment to other. We cannot accept people for who they are and we highlight their mistakes and differences. How is that Christian? It is not about me of you or anyone else. It is not about celebrities or wealth or popularity. It is not about what you can do for you or the good deeds that you have done. It is all about God. He made it all and it all belongs to Him. The stars celebrate His glory and shout out His praises, so who are we to centre us in our world. It is all about Jesus and His glory.

So, when you talk to someone or share in team work or even when you are at home with your friends or family know that Jesus did not put Him before us, so we should do the same.

Lord, help us to remove the me in our live and replace it with you so that we will truly show your light in this dark world. Let us show love to one another and celebrate you. It is all about you, Lord. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 29 June 2017

A reminder for today
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. (1 John 2:22-25)

We live in weird times. I grew up in world where people went to church every Sunday and respected other. People did not doubt God and schools started a day with prayer and scripture. Suddenly that all changed and now we are not allowed to have schools that starts a day with Jesus, suddenly Jesus is not allowed in our schools anymore. The moment we accept this is the moment society falls into destruction. Isn’t it funny how Jesus is wrong, but satan is right. The laws of Jesus have no meaning but the lawlessness of satan is fine. People will rather build on lies than stand on the truth. What happened to this world that God created?

It is simple, when we live a godless life we have no guild for we can do whatever we want and it is fine. We can lie and steal and destroy. We can hurt and kill and fornicate and bath in the desires and lusts of a broken world. We can have same sex relationships and the world will ban those speaking out against gay marriages. Corruption and wealth makes the person and the more we have the more important we are. We live for evil and there is no place for good. We deny God, yet we accept other gods.

John writes a very important message here in verse 22. He says that those who denies Jesus is nothing other than antichrist. And we have many of those. He goes on makes it very clear that whoever denies Jesus, does not have God either. How many people denies Jesus as our saviour and Messiah? John goes on says that which we have heard and which we know should remain in us until the end, because this promises eternal life. So, I ask that we do not accept this world, but instead we should stand up for Jesus and fight for Him. There are so many that are lost. We just can’t let them perish. We can at least stand up for Jesus so that they will see our conviction and maybe the Holy Spirit can change their hearts. Things are going to get much worse, so I ask that you stay steadfast in your faith and keep your eyes on Jesus.

Lord, I pray that you will open our hearts and eyes so that we will recognize the lies of satan and reject him from us. Let us stand firm in our faith and give us the strength to keep fighting no matter how hard it gets. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 28 June 2017

A reminder for today
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. (1 John 2:20-21)

The doctor feels that I should make a more frequent visit due to the sickness that I have. I suppose I have to submit and let him do his work. You see the devil wants to make us more vulnerable and he will do anything to push us into depression and fear. I woke up this morning and I said to the enemy that I am not afraid and that he should try again today. His attempts to bring me down will fail for my hope and trust is in Jesus Christ. I live, because He gives me life. I am able to do what I do, because of His grace. It is important that I remember this each and every day, because each day is a blessing and I should live each day to its fullest for the glory of God.

John says that Jesus gives us the understanding to know what is true so that we can live in the truth. This truth will teach us the true God we know so that we can have eternal life. John ends this with a very important phrase. He says that we must keep ourselves from idols. I told my son about the golden calf the Israelites made as we drove to school this morning. I told him that their ignorance towards God made them wonder the wilderness for forty years. We also talked about the first commandment which is: Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20)

Today people miss this commandment so easily. Money, wealth and material things take the place of God in our lives. We do not need that, we need God. So, today keep yourself away from idols and keep your eyes on Jesus. He is much more than all this world can ever offer. Let us remind satan that he has nothing on us for we are forgiven by the blood of Jesus. God will show us mercy for we love Him and we keep His commandments. Live from now onwards and forget what is past. Jesus did it all for you, because you are so special to Him.

Lord, we love you and we cannot do this on our own. Fill us with your strength and wisdom so that we can bring more glory to you. You are our God and our only God. We live for you alone. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
