Today Reminder (The Race) – 31 Augustus 2018

A reminder for today
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)

As an exercise fanatic I can relate to finishing the race. The thing about exercise and training is that it becomes a way of life. I do a two-hour workout every morning and if I miss it I will find a way to do it on a later time that day. I will always do my workout regardless. I will even train when I do not feel well although I know you should rest, but I always say that I will rest enough one day when the Lord takes me to Him.

So, Paul says that we should lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily engulfs us and continue to run this race with patience. Every weight I would say is the burdens of life that pulls us down. I must say that the last few weeks the world added a few new burdens to my pile, so today I lay aside those burdens and I trust the Lord for the outcome.

Sin is the one that really gets us. Anger and irritation inevitably lead to sin and desire and need follows a path of destruction. Man’s self-esteem can cause a few obstacles that weights us down and breaks our path. You see we all have a few flaws and if we are not careful we can easily step into a trap that will lead to our fall. So, sin is the one we battle a lot and you cannot argue that it is ok when you know it is wrong.

To make this race we must steer clear of temptations and carefully follow God’s guidance and instructions. We must spend more time in His word and more time on our knees. Every race requires preparation and this race is no different. To prepare for this race you need to condition your mind and soul. The only way we can do this is by reading the Bible and praying as often as possible. Remember God is everywhere so pray everywhere.

Come with me today as we run the race of life with patience and endurance. Let us finish this race victorious and with honour as righteous winners. Let us stay focused and determined as we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus our saviour. When it gets hard, take a breather and keep fighting. Remember that Jesus was persecuted, and He suffered even though He was innocent. We will also face many obstacles in our race, but our team member is the creator of heaven and earth, so I guess we have a lot on our side. Remember who God is and remember what awaits the enemy when our Lord returns and remind the enemy of his fate but remember the prize that awaits you.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (Rulers of the darkness) – 30 Augustus 2018

A reminder for today
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

I love the new app from genesis apologetics and I think it is something we should all have on our phones and use as often as we can. It is those type of questions that we need to be prepared for in defending our faith against the lies of the enemy.

I love Ephesians or maybe I am just a huge fan of Paul, so I love to read his letters. When Paul writes here about the forces of darkness he reminds us that we must not forget who we are really battling. It is the enemy in the hearts of those engulfed by darkness that sends them on the wrong path. I have fallen many times before, but I know what my moral obligations are, and I strive each day to be better at being a child of God.

Those that are consumed by darkness does not have the same moral compass and they think that they are above what is right and wrong. Sadly, they forget that we will all stand in front of God on judgement day where we will be held accountable for the life we lived and the choices we made. You see there is just two choices here. It is light or darkness/ Jesus or the other guy. The answer is simple for us because we know that Jesus in the only way to redemption, but when you are of this world and the things of this world is important to you, it is not so easy.

This is when we get either those against Christianity or those that are mediocre Christians. Jesus said that you are either for Him or against Him, there is not middle ground. Jesus was clear about this in Matthew 7:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.

It is imperative that we fight the forces of darkness and seek God every day. It is important that we stay focussed and read our Bibles. It is also important that we are prepared and ready for the attacks of the enemy each day. Come and stand with me as we fight the darkness and show the light.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Today Reminder (Peace) – 29 Augustus 2018

A reminder for today
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

Have you ever woken up irritated already? It has been a long month and I must admit my challenges are just adding up. So, I am tired and as I woke this morning I was already a little annoyed. Circumstances, situations and people play a vital role in our live experiences. You can say the workload and our situation here in South Africa is a large contributor to my irritations.

How do we deal with the little sparks that lead to huge fires? Jesus said that He leaves His peace with us. He says that He gives His peace not as the world gives but as He gives. When Jesus talks about peace, He means that we should not let this world and its stupidity get to us. We should focus on the truth and the light and the reward that is in Him. You know Jesus said that He has already defeated this world for us and He reminds us here that we should not let our hearts be troubled or afraid.

It is not an easy thing when you see what is going on here or in the rest of the world for that matter. You see the hatred and the death and how little life is worth. The world is a cruel and cold place and as a Christian you are on the enemies list. But in truth this should not get you down. We are here to show the gospel and to lead people to Jesus. If I have to die for Him then it is His will, for my life is in His hands and I will give it gladly if it is the will of my Father.

So, to my fellow Christians in South Africa and all over the world is say this: do not fear and do not allow the enemy to create distance between you and God. Stand firm in your faith and trust in the Lord. Come with me today as we battle the enemy on our knees and pray for the lives of all the Christians all over the world. Let His kingdom come and let His will be done. Be strong and courageous today.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
