Today Reminder - 31 December 2012 (Looking back)

A reminder for today
The people blamed Moses and said, "If only we had died in the LORD's presence with our brothers! Why have you brought the congregation of the LORD's people into this wilderness to die, along with all our livestock? Why did you make us leave Egypt and bring us here to this terrible place? This land has no grain, no figs, no grapes, no pomegranates, and no water to drink!" (Numbers 20:3-5)

The end of 2012 – Looking back:

Today is the last day of 2012 and looking back one can’t help but to remember all that has happened in this year. The Israelites are blaming Moses once again for the hardships they face and have faced and they looked back at a time that seemed better, yet they have forgotten the good things God has done to bring them so far and they certainly have forgotten all they have done wrong. So the complained – again.

My dear friend, I look back at a year filled with many obstacles and many amazing things. I see God’s hand as He guided and carried us through so many difficult times and I see His mercy and love in so many miracles. This year was a good year and knowing how God stood by my side through all, I can’t wait for the year to come.

Let us look back and be thankful for all the blessings we received and let’s forget all the bad things that have happened. Let’s take the positive and use it as a foundation to start 2013. Let us take the lessons learned and apply them as we continue on our journey of life.

Thank you dear friend for reading my “Today Reminders” and following God’s Word with me as He opens it up and motivates us each day. Thank you for taking time and sharing in His wonderful messages. May your day be filled with His love and blessings as we say farewell to the old year and ask God to take us into the New Year.

“The greatest joy of a Christian is to give joy to Christ.” ― Charles H. Spurgeon

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 28 December 2012 (Forgive)

A reminder for today
"Get away from all these people so that I can instantly destroy them!" But Moses and Aaron fell face down on the ground. And Moses said to Aaron, "Quick, take an incense burner and place burning coals on it from the altar. Lay incense on it, and carry it out among the people to purify them and make them right with the LORD. The LORD's anger is blazing against them—the plague has already begun." (Numbers 16:45-46)

Forgive:

It is amazing how many times the Israelites angered God and how many times Moses pleaded with the Lord to forgive them and not to destroy them. In so many ways they rallied against Moses and complained that you would think Moses would let the Lord destroy them as He wanted, yet Moses acted and pleaded with the Lord.

This made me think. How many times does the Lord Jesus plead for us in a day? Have we anger God in such a way that He wanted to destroy us? If we are forgiven so many times for our foolish mistakes, how many times do we forgive other and do we forget or do we always hold it against them?

My dear friend, in forgiving we are set free. Anger and hate are tools that the enemy uses to control us. By forgiving and forgetting we are breaking the foothold of the enemy and we leave them no place in our lives.

Remember: Forgiveness goes both ways. You must also forgive yourself!

I pray that you will forgive and forget just as the Lord has forgiven you, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 27 December 2012 (Chosen)

A reminder for today
“Buds will sprout on the staff belonging to the man I choose. Then I will finally put an end to the people's murmuring and complaining against you. "When he went into the Tabernacle of the Covenant the next day, he found that Aaron's staff, representing the tribe of Levi, had sprouted, budded, blossomed, and produced ripe almonds! (Numbers 17: 5 and 8)

You have been chosen:

There was a rebellion in the Israelite camp about leadership and the people questioned Aaron and Moses as their leaders stating that they have not brought them to a land of milk and honey but instead they were doomed to die in the wilderness. The result was that God opened the earth and underneath Korah and all his followers and they were buried alive. Finally God told Moses that he must collect the staffs from all the tribal leaders and He will show whom He chooses when buds will sprout from that staff.

My dear friend, thanks to the wonderful gift we have in Jesus Christ we are all able to enter into God’s holy place and spend time with Him. This is an enormous gift and one we should take very seriously. In the Old Testament only Aaron was allowed in God’s holy place in the tabernacle. People had to present offerings before God in a number of rituals to clean them from sin.

All we have to do is accept the Lord Jesus Christ who carried our burden of sin and destroyed the grip of death and defeated the devil so that we are completely free to live our lives for the Lord. Therefore you are chosen to represent the Lord in all that you do and in all that you are. You are His child and He loves you so much.

Come and let us glorify His name through our lives.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 26 December 2012 (Different)

A reminder for today
But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land. (Numbers 14:24)

Different, don’t you want to be different? Once again the Israelites have turned away from God and in this they angered God. So instead of entering the Promised Land, God punishes their faithlessness by letting them wonder in the wilderness for forty years. You see God wanted to destroy them there and then, but Moses interceded for them and pleaded with the Lord to spare them, yet the Lord was tired of their ways. God said that none of them will enter the Promised Land. Only their children will see it and with the exception of Caleb and Joshua who did not turn their backs against the Lord but remained faithful.

My dear friend, instead of fearing the giants and losing faith, Joshua and Caleb stood up and argued with the Israelite leaders. They were different. They did not follow the direction of those with little faith, but instead they knew who God is and trusted Him like they should, knowing God will come through for them as He promised.

God will not leave you or forget you. He is and will always deliver you from whatever it is you may face. Come with me today as we will be different and not follow the direction of the lost, but instead follow the direction of God. Let’s stand out and be different as we live our lives trusting our Lord with unbroken faith and diligence.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 25 December 2012 (Merry Christmas)

A reminder for today
And the LORD said to Moses, "How long will these people treat me with contempt? Will they never believe me, even after all the miraculous signs I have done among them? (Numbers 14:11)

Merry Christmas!

Wow! It is Christmas. What a wonderful time in rejoicing the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. What a wonderful gift from a loving Father to all His children all over the world.

My dear friend, this is such a wonderful opportunity to show the world that our God lives and that He is the only living God. Through our lives and the wonderful gifts God has given us we can show Him to our neighbours. Let us celebrate Him in living a life that glorifies His name.

My prayer for you for today is that you will have a beautiful day filled with joy, love and peace and that the Lord will bless you and all your family through this wonderful time, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
