Today Reminder – 31 March 2014 (Day 20 – My Strength)

A reminder for today
I know you are pleased with me, for you have not let my enemies triumph over me. (Psalm 41:11)

I am sitting here thinking of how the Lord was with me over this weekend. I have often written to you that God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1). Every time I compete, I feel how that Spirit confirms within me that there is no fear and how that just gives me peace.

Life is filled with friends and enemies and wherever we go we are faced with one of the other. Some are clear and some are hidden. One thing we know for a fact is that the true enemy is satan and his dark forces seeking our downfall in each and every moment of our lives and they hate it when we succeed.

The enemy is struggling. What I want to say is this: The Lord is pleased with you so therefore He will not let the enemy triumph over you. When we look at the word pleased it means satisfied, delighted, thrilled or content. The Lord is satisfied with you and He delights in you. The LORD your God will delight in you if you obey His voice and keep the commands and decrees written in this Book of Instruction, and if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul. (Deuteronomy 30:10)

When we face the impossible and we turn to the Lord and obey His voice with all our heart and soul, He is thrilled with us and content with what we do. My dear friend, God is satisfied with what you do for you are doing what He wants you to do. Do not let the enemy make you think that God is displeased with you. He is not. He loves you just the way you are and the way you are is the design He had in mind for you.

Can you remember that last time you were thrilled? Do you remember that feeling? That is how God feels about you, no matter the mistakes you make or the faults you have. You are perfect for you are His image.

Let us take on today with renewed strength knowing that the Lord is pleased with us. Let us continue to obey His voice and keep the commands and decrees written in His book. Let us turn to Him with all our heart and soul as we continue to live for Him.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder – 28 March 2014 (Day 19 – My Strength)

A reminder for today
Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health. (Psalm 41:1-3)

I must admit that this is something I struggle with. Here in our country we have a lot of poor people and thanks to the ruling party that poverty seems to grow every day. It feels form time to time as if you don’t have enough to give and you just want to shout out “Not another one”. Then you get those that give too and it looks as if they expected you to give more. This all makes up the struggle in my mind and I guess it makes you negative about giving.

My dear friend, how can we receive when we do not give? I think it comes down to trust and faith. We do not trust God nor do we have faith in His Word. Just listen to the words in Psalm 41.

Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor – There is joy in giving. Joy, because you are changing another person’s circumstances and joy for you will receive more than what you give.

The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps them alive – Wow, what a promise. When you give the Lord will help you when you are in trouble and protect you.

He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies – By giving you will be prosperous and I have heard so many business people confirming this. When they give their businesses just prospers. You will too!

The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health – The Lord will keep you healthy and heal you when you are sick. This is so awesome! Not only will you have joy, receive more than you give and be prosperous, you will also be healed and protected.

I am giving right now! What about you?

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 27 March 2014 (Day 18 – My Strength)

A reminder for today
May those who try to destroy me be humiliated and put to shame. May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace. Let them be horrified by their shame, for they said, "Aha! We've got him now!" (Psalm 40:14-15)

I must say that we live in an interesting world, because other people’s business is always more interesting that our own and people can be so jealous without reason. Beyond that we are always in a struggle and people wait to see us fall and more so the enemy waits at every corner ready to trick us and let us stumble.

When I read this about David I can only think how he must have felt when Saul so desperately wanted him dead and he faced danger at every corner. Sometimes we are in the same boat when we either have a huge new responsibility or things are doing well at work at in our business and it seems as if people just want to see us fail.

It in these moments that we can truly define our faith and establish our trust in the Lord and stand against all that is against us. David continues and writes in verse 16 “But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "The LORD is great!"

My dear friend, we will shout these words and we will change people. The Lord will destroy those who take delight in our shame and He will fill us with joy and gladness as we shout "The LORD is great!"

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 26 March 2014 (Day 17 – My Strength)

A reminder for today
Oh, the joys of those who trust the LORD, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols. (Psalm 40:4)

Oh where does my strength flow from? Where do I find the power to continue? Oh the joys of those who trust in the Lord are too numerous to count. I must say as we continue through this month seeking strength and waiting on the Lord to fill us with His unlimited strength I have been surprised at how quickly the Lord moves and strengthen us. I can feel how fatigue sets in trying to pull me down and then the Lord just lifts my Spirit and I am renewed.

Where is your confidence my friend? Who do you look too when there are no more answers? Where does your strength flow from?

If we continue to look at the proud and those who worship their earthly idols we will continue to move in the wrong direction and we will never be satisfied. It is so easy to get caught in the snare of desire when we look at the proud with their expensive houses and fast cars. Is it really important? No it is not! Remember that nothing you collect here on earth can be taken to heaven and nothing here on earth can compare to the way of life in heaven. Why do you desire the mediocre when you can long for so much more?

Trust in the Lord and look to heaven and desire a life filled with Jesus and not with materialistic emptiness. Jesus said it so nice in Matthew 6: "Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.”

Today Reminder – 25 March 2014 (Day 16 – My Strength)

A reminder for today
I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD. (Psalm 40: 1-3)

This is such an awesome Psalm that I almost feel I have nothing to add. Deep within me the Holy Spirit is moving as I feel His voice just confirming these Words. There are a few things that I wish to highlight here and I guess we all find ourselves overwhelmed by circumstances at times and sometimes more often than needed. David writes “I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.” I must say that I am just so overwhelmed by these words. I have seen the Lord move so many times in my life and it is just like that. When you become silent and you are filled with His peace and you wait patiently, then the Lord turns and things change. When things start to change they really change. You can feel how you are lifted from that pit of despair and those heavy emotions that can so control our feelings. Suddenly there is direction and you feel as if you found your way again as you start your day with a song. We should sing more. We should sing wherever we go and praise Him more with our voices. Many will see your new song and many will be amazed and many will turn and seek the Lord.

I pray that your feet will be on solid ground and that you will walk steady on your journey singing your new song and changing the hearts of so many lost and on the wrong direction.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
