Today Reminder – 29 August 2014 (Day 21 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today

Today is the last day of our “Return to Proverbs” theme. Monday we start a new theme so I would like to end this one with a few proverbs (taking the easy way) and let you meditate on God’s wisdom in Solomon. It is such a privilege to be able to share His amazing insight and just go through these verses. I find myself completely taken by some of the things that he wrote and I must admit some of them I did wrong. I do hope that his words will be a guide to you and that God will give you equal wisdom in life and in the challenges that you need to deal with. I wrote yesterday that friendship is so important and in that you are important to me my friend as we journey together though the wonders of God’s Word. Thank you for joining me on my travels, you are a great friend and one that Jesus so adores. Here they are from proverbs 19:

Better to be poor and honest than to be dishonest and a fool.
Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes.
People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the LORD.
Wealth makes many "friends"; poverty drives them all away.
A false witness will not go unpunished, nor will a liar escape.
Many seek favours from a ruler; everyone is the friend of a person who gives gifts!

Lazy people sleep soundly, but idleness leaves them hungry.
Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death.
If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD—and he will repay you!
Discipline your children while there is hope. Otherwise you will ruin their lives.

Who can say, "I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin"?
Ears to hear and eyes to see—both are gifts from the LORD

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder – 28 August 2014 (Day 20 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today
There are "friends" who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24)

When we first talked to each other
I knew we would always be friends.
Our friendship has kept on growing
And I'll be here for you to the end.

You listen when I have a problem
And help dry the tears from my face.
You take away my sorrow
And put happiness in its place.

We can't forget the fun we've had
Laughing 'til our faces turn blue.
Talking of things only we find funny
People think we're insane-If they only knew!

I guess this is my way of saying thanks
For catching me when I fall.
Thanks once again for being such a good friend
And being here with me through it all.
- Rachel Ellis

True friendship is a gift from God. To have someone that always stands by you and understands you is the greatest gift anyone can ever have. Treasure your friends for they are the ones that make you happy.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 27 August 2014 (Day 19 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today
Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends (Proverbs 17:9)

When the disciples asked the Lord to teach them how to pray, he gave them this prayer:

"When you pray, don't babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don't be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Pray like this:

Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.

"If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6:7-14)

To forgive is to love fully and completely like the Lord does. Love overcomes all and in the end love will always remain as the Lord will always be. Clear your past and forgive so that love can be victorious against the hate that the enemy brings.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 26 August 2014 (Day 18 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today
We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

Our lives are planned and formed by God. Each one of us was designed long before our birth. So when we live our lives we have to follow this design, yet at times we try and alter God’s design and follow our own mind. It is then when things go wrong. Each step we take is in His hands and as we follow His plan and His voice we will succeed in every challenge. We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer (Verse 1). Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful (Verse 20). We may throw the dice, but the LORD determines how they fall (Verse 33). Everything is in His hands and we may try and follow our own ideas and directions, yet we will soon realise that it is meaningless if not the will of God. When people's lives please the LORD, even their enemies are at peace with them (Verse 7). Live to be more and live to be different. Let the streams of life that is in you change you and those around you. When we live by the will and guidance of the Lord we will be at peace and fully content. Let this be your goal each day.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 25 August 2014 (Day 17 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. (Proverbs 15:1)

We can be so stubborn when we want to. We have the opportunity to get to the bottom of an issue but we choose to let our own emotions get the better of us. Sometimes it might be something else that made you upset and then you would react incorrectly to anyone else. Other should not be our punching bags when we need to vent out our issues. Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit (Verse 4). Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time! (Verse 23) Fear of the LORD teaches wisdom; humility precedes honour (Verse 33). We should control our anger and our words. Let the Lord be your guide and the guard at your mouth so that only good and uplifting words will come out of your river of life.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
