Today Reminder – 07 October 2014 (Day 5 – Faith)

A reminder for today

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8)

It is by our faith that we will be saved. You see nobody is perfect and nobody can be perfect no matter what those superstars think. In the end we will have to stand before God and be judged by the life we lived. As the Scriptures say, "No one is righteous—not even one.” And in 1 John 1 we are also reminded about our imperfections:  If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

We may be imperfect, but Jesus in us makes us perfect for God. Perfectly designed by a loving Father – Believe this my friend, for the mistakes you make on a daily basis are forgiven daily by a loving and understanding Father. To live in His light is surely no easy task, but to allow Him to give us guidance and make us stronger will surely make us better. Do not let the world confuse you with its misguided insults and poor example, instead let Jesus be the map that you follow and the way you walk. It is not the mistakes that we make that defines us but the way we stand up and try again. You are already saved, my friend, and it is not because you are so cool, it is because you are so loved.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder – 06 October 2014 (Day 4 – Faith)

A reminder for today

The Bible says in 2 Peter 1:3 that as we grow in our knowledge of God, through His divine power He gives us everything we need for life and godliness. Jesus relied on the Word of God alone to overcome obstacles, including the devil. God's Word is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12), useful for correcting us when we are wrong and teaching us what is right (2 Timothy 3:16). So, it makes sense for us to carry God's Word in our hearts through memorization, to be ready to face any problem, every difficulty, and whatsoever challenge that life can send our way.

"You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible." (Matthew 17:20)

When we carry His Word with us each and every day in our hearts we will become stronger. Growing in our knowledge of God should also make us grow in our faith. Jesus says here that if we had faith as small as a mustard seed we would be able to move mountains. My dear friend, come with me today as we trust God with all our hearts. I have seen God Move Mountains and I want to see Him do it again. Come with me and let us submit our hearts completely to Him and trust Him. Let us look up to the heavens with hands lifted high as we proclaim His power in our lives and let the Holy Spirit fill us with strength as we just have faith in Him. Let our faith be fearless and strong so that we will see those mountains move today and each day to come.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 03 October 2014 (Day 3 – Faith)

A reminder for today

What is faith? Faith is described as complete trust or confidence in someone or something. The writer of Hebrews defines faith so nicely in Hebrews 11 verse 1:

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

If we want to better our lives, our model for living faith should be Jesus Christ. His life is the perfect model of faith. Throughout His human years Jesus displayed perfect, living faith and motivated others not only to believe in God, but to go beyond that by believing what God says —trusting Him, even to the point of doing as He says.

To believe God, on the other hand, is to have faith that God can and will do for us whatever He has promised to do. The Bible tells us that the ancient patriarch Abraham "believed God" and explains that "he did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to [and would] perform" (Romans:4:3, 20-21).

God expects us to act on this trusting belief. He requires that we have living faith in His existence, power and promises.

Today Reminder – 02 October 2014 (Day 2 – Faith)

A reminder for today
Jesus responded, "Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. (Matthew 8:26)

The winds and storms of life can leave us in fear and without faith. We can so easily be overwhelmed by a relentless enemy when he continues to throw one issue after the next on our path. We forget all about God as we stare hopelessly at the mountain of problems that lies ahead and then we turn away from God unaware that we are even doing it. You see we look at the problems and the more we fear them the bigger they get and the smaller we make God. It is in the midst of these challenges that Jesus says “Why are you afraid?” We are reminded of His love when we look up at the cross and we are confronted with our little faith when He rebukes the enemy and calms our storms.

Why do we fall in the trap of losing faith when we are clearly reminded by His greatness just by looking up at the heavens? My dear friend, do not fear and do not allow your challenges to dominate your faith. When we stand up in our storms and call His name He will come down and calm our storms. I have had so many storms in my life that He calmed so easily. Allow the Lord to fill you with His Holy Spirit and His Holy Strength and renew your faith again, then watch those waves disappear.

Today Reminder – 01 October 2014 (Day 1 – Faith)

A reminder for today

For we live by believing and not by seeing. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Jip it is October. Two more months and we are basically done with 2014. How was your year, my friend? do you still struggle to keep your head above water and do you battle with life as it just doesn’t seem to give you a break? Every day we are faced with questions and challenges and unfortunately most of the time these issues are focussed on our faith. We struggle with life as we struggle to completely submit and trust the Lord. I have decided to focus this month on our faith. I want to try and build it and form a stronger bond. I want us to get to a place where we can trust freely and submit completely. I want us to break the chains and soar high above the world and its make believe happiness to a place where we will see God for who He is and for what He is supposed to be in our way of life. I want us to live by faith and not by sight.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus
