Today Reminder – 09 May 2017

A reminder for today
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God's grace, not from rules about food, which don't help those who follow them. (Hebrews 13:8-9)

The world loves to adjust the Bible to whatever we prefer and what does not hurt our feelings. So if the Bible says that a gay marriage is wrong we will find a way to justify it, because it will hurt people’s feelings. We will accept other beliefs and call ourselves Christians, but we live as if we are without religion. People will do anything to justify what they do as if it is correct. We forget that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He does not change nor does the Bible. The guidelines that the Bible gave us can never be altered for our own gain.

And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person's share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19)

Therefore, do not be attracted by strange ideas or anything that contradicts what is written in the Word of God. When we live our lives for Jesus, it is important that we live out His ideals and His directions that He gave us. Yes, we must love our neighbour, but we must love them enough to help them find their way to God. We do force our beliefs, but we guide out of love so that no one will be lost and everyone will be saved. We share the gospel, because we know and live in this truth. Jesus died for all, therefore there is no reason we cannot try to save all.

Lord, we ask that you open your Word to us so that we can live in the truth of what you teaches. Let us show your ways, by the way we live so that other will also desire a life that is different from the rest. Let us show your grace and proclaim your salvation. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 08 May 2017

A reminder for today
Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies. (Hebrews 13:1-3)

Why does Paul write this in his conclusion in Hebrews? Paul basically says that we must not stop loving other and he says that we should show hospitality to strangers. He asks that we remember those in prison and those that are being mistreated as if they were us. When Paul says that we must love other, he compares that love to the love we have for a brother or a sister. Why do we need to show love and why does Paul often writes about love. You see God loved us first. He loved us before we were conceived and He still loves us with that same unconditional love. Love is a strong feeling of affection but God’s love us indescribable. Paul focusses on this, because this is how we lead the lost to God and the salvation that lies within Jesus Christ. We know our God exists and we know Jesus is the Son of God, but there as so many that does not know this. To help them, we must be willing to listen and step into their shoes. Jesus came down to earth to step into our shoes and understand the challenges that we face. So why can we not step into the shoes of other? If we say God is love, we need to show this by the way we love other. Jesus made this clear when He said that we must love our neighbour as we love ourselves. Who is our neighbour? Everyone is. From the people that lives next to you to those that are in prison. God does not stop loving you, because you are in prison. God wants you to find your way back to Him and Heaven rejoices for each lost one that returns home.

Jesus did not leave and said “Have a nice day”, he left with these words: "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Let us walk with Jesus and show His love to ALL. I know it is hard to react to hate with love, but the power of love will overcome all evil and remember all of this is temporary. For a little while, we will have pain and suffering, but for eternity, we will live in love. When you talk to that atheist or that prisoner or even your friend, remember to talk with love and remember them in your prayers.

Lord, we pray that you will fill us with your love and lead us to give your love to other. Let us see them the way you see them and break our hearts for what breaks yours. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 05 May 2017

A reminder for today
Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29)

It is Friday and it is almost weekend. I listened to the testimony of Paul Young the author of “The Shack”. He speaks about grace of a day or rather grace for a day. He says that each day we should live in that day’s grace. We should embrace the grace we receive each day and live it to the fullest. The fact that I woke this morning is by grace and the love of God. We easily forget the amazing gift that we have called “life”. Jesus spoke about this in a sense in Matthew 6. "So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.”

Above all, we are receiving a kingdom that is unshakable in eternity with the Lord. So let us forget about the past and all our troubles and let us focus on God. God is a devouring fire and I must admit I love that verse. We are worshipping an awesome God and we must never forget whom He is. Paul says we must worship Him with holy fear and awe. When He says fear, he talks about God’s judgement over sin. The awe part is easy, because God leaves me in awe every day. The fear part is not so easy, because we are under constant attacks from the enemy and at days, it can be very slippery. However, fortunately, we have Jesus and He is our strength so that we can overcome these attacks. Jesus is our hope and our life, He is the way and in Him, we find shelter from darkness, as he becomes the light that guides us in the Holy Spirit. You are and will always remain in my prayers and I continue to ask God to strengthen you and keep you from stumbling.

Lord, I pray that you lead us through this day and let us see your glory as we worship you. We are in awe of your wonder and we desire more of you and less of us. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and let us shine like the morning star. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
