Today Reminder – 17 May 2017

A reminder for today
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. (James 4:7-8)

It is Wednesday and the week is filled with challenges. I have been tormented by more and more injuries and this is making training very hard. Work is tough with more challenges and on top of this I am really tired. So, it is really going quite well (LOL). How are things on your side, my friend? The enemy is always busy with plans to make us tumble and fall. He will use anything to make us miserable and to push us to the place where we will give up. Unfortunately for him, my strength comes from God. Therefore, despite injuries and regardless of my challenges and weaknesses I will not give up.

James writes here in James 3 one of the most powerful passages. He is very clear when he says that we must humble ourselves before God. This means we must become lesser and lesser in our lives and allow God to become more. He says that we must resist the devil, then he will flee from us. In resisting the devil, he means that we must resist the world and the temptations the world has.

I love this in verse 2 and 3: You want what you don't have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can't get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don't have what you want because you don't ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don't get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

It is so important that we desire only God and what God wants for us. His plans for us is much higher than our own ideas and needs. Why do we need all of these worldly things when they are all temporary anyway? What we need to do is desire what will give us eternity with God. Jesus said that we must store our treasures in heaven. We must come closer to God and then God will become closer to us. In this we must be completely loyal and committed to God so the world will become lesser and lesser and our desires will be more in line with God. Therefore, let us humble ourselves before the Lord, and He will lift us up in honour.

Lord, we desire you and you alone. Give us the strength to resist the devil and commit our hearts to you and you alone. Let our lives be filled with you only so that we will have the same desires that you desire for us. Let us follow your voice and focus only on you. Lord, we humble ourselves before and we give you our hearts. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 16 May 2017

A reminder for today
For jealousy and selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. (James 3:15-16)

When God asked Solomon what he wanted, Solomon chose wisdom. God was so pleased with Solomon’s choice that He gave him wealth and fame and no other king will ever be compared to him. Wisdom is extremely important to God and how we use it towards other. Our wisdom should not be founded from earthly people, but we must ask God for His kind of wisdom.

Godly wisdom will help us to make the right choices, but mostly it will help us in our relationships with other. Jealousy and selfishness is not from God, in fact it is some of the worst characteristics we can ever display. It kills our relationship with God and it creates disorder in our lives, because our greed will destroy us.

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favouritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. (Verse 17 – 18)

Therefore, we must ask God for wisdom above all else so that we can live a life where we show mercy and do good deeds. We must show no favouritism and we must always be sincere. Sometimes it is best to yield instead of arguing and to take a moment and listen. Sometimes we must just take our “self” out of the equation and allow God to enter. When God becomes our guide and source of wisdom we will see things differently. It is about Him and the glory we give Him. A loving ear and a gentle voice can open doors that was shut for ages. Let God be your wisdom giver and listen to His voice in all your challenges today.

Lord, we pray that you give us wisdom as you gave it to Solomon so that we can bring glory to your name when we face our challenges. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 15 May 2017

A reminder for today
So you see, faith by itself isn't enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. (James 2:17)

Yesterday was Mother’s Day and I do hope you guys had an awesome day. I believe that God has made woman much stronger through the ages and that they are a force of faith that carries the gospel in their hearts. I always say that if you want to get an idea of how great God’s love is you must look at a Mother’s love for her children. My Mom played a huge role in my faith and the relationship I have with Jesus today. So, Mom’s you guys rock!

What is faith if you cannot see it? What is faith if you do not show it? What is faith if it is mere words? Think about this for a moment: if I can change the heart of one person and you can do the same. If each one of us can turn a lost heart back to Jesus and they in turn can do the same, what an impact will that have on this world. We are not called to become Christians and hide our faith, we are called to show our faith and to tell other of our God. Jesus said go and make disciples of all the nations. He also said that He is with us even to the end of age. It is so important that we have a relationship with Jesus, but it is just as important for us to lead other to Jesus. Some of these people will take many prayers and many hours of love, but do not give up. Jesus never gives up on us.

This week carry the love of our Lord with you and show your faith in all that you do. Let your faith produce good deeds and lead other to Jesus. I believe that love overcomes all. The enemy cannot break love and the enemy cannot stop God.

Lord, burn into our hearts your desire and let us follow your voice and show our faith in all that we do. Let is sing holy and lift you up in all our hearts so that those who do not know you will desire what we have. Let your love shine in our lives as we glorify you. It is all about you, Lord. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
