Today's thought - 14 February 2026

This morning God reminds me again that it is with reverence and Godly fear that we should serve Him. Notice that reverence and godly fear is separated in this verse. Reverence is the dictionary means “deep respect for someone or something”. Holy fear (or the fear of the Lord) is a profound reverence, awe, and adoration for God based on His holiness, power, and love, rather than terror of punishment.

It drives obedience, intimacy, and a desire to please Him, acting as a respectful "awe" that draws believers closer to the Creator. And then finally Paul says that our God is a consuming fire stating that we should approach God with respect and obedience and also that He is a cleansing fire that will purify us and heal us from all evil.

Our inheritance is far greater than what this world has to offer and our God is the one and only creator of heaven and earth. In Him and Him alone lies our salvation and in Him will we find unlimited strength and grace.

My dear friend, let us worship God with renewed awe and holy fear and give Him all the praise as we continue to commit our lives for His glory. Do not give up but continue to stand strong and courageous for God knows our sorrows and what we need. He is already working behind the scenes to give us our hearts desires.

Just have faith for we walk by faith not by sight.

Have an awesome day.
