Today's thought - 15 February 2026

Every one of us has that moment when we must choose between God and the world. Just as Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego stood before the throne of Nebuchadnezzar and were confronted with the law to bow down before his gods and his statue and worship him. They refused and it is interesting that he had his people increase the temperature of the furnace seven times more than what the norm was to such an extent that it burned the people that pushed Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego into the furnace.

The Bible says, “the flame of the fire slew those men”. Slew meaning to kill, murder, destroy, or put to death violently. So, the image I have this morning is simply that amid our battles even those that is intended to destroy us, God is with us. The Bible says that Nebuchadnezzar said he saw four men walking around in the furnace and one looked like the Son of God. This is so important to know today, and I say this with emphasis that God said He will never (never meaning never) leave us nor forsake us.

So, while you are walking in your wilderness or your desert or your furnace, Jesus is always there. Always present, always looking out for you and always listening. I am in my wilderness, but just as the Israelites had to go through the wilderness and prepare for the promise land so do, we sometimes need to go through certain trails and challenges to reach full maturity and to step into our promise.

Have an awesome day, my friend.
