Today Reminder - 03 September 2012 (Doors)

My prayer for you for today is that you will hear the voice of the Lord and open the door of your heart, in Jesus name.

Revelation 3:20
"Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”

Doors - Look! I stand at the door and knock. Have you ever been to door and no one answers – frustrating! I believe that every day creates new doors in our lives and each door is either a new opportunity or something that we keep behind a closed door. We too can be seen as a door, our doors either open to Jesus or we keep them closed.

As each day starts, Jesus comes to knock on your door. When you start your day with Him and allow Him in and share with Him, you day is bound to be successful. Jesus says when you hear my voice and open the door, in this He refers to an old parable – the sheep that recognises the voice of the shepherd and follows Him. We hear His voice and we react to a familiar voice.

Sharing a meal together as friends is also such a powerful statement. When you eat with your friends it is in an environment where you are comfortable and relaxed. You share the good and the bad times and talking with friends opens the opportunity to lighten the load and regain new focus and objectives. When Jesus enters through your door, He doesn’t only want to be with you, but He also wants to help you with you problems and carry the burdens that you drag behind you.

When you open the door and allow Jesus into your life, His presence will make you stronger and more focussed. His voice will be clearer and letting Him walk with you will ultimately build a better relationship with Him.

My dear friend, open the door and let your day start with Jesus. Let Him enter into your life and let Him share in your good and bad. Hear His voice and follow His Word as you seek His presence every day. Be patient and allow Him to work in His time by fully trusting Him in every success and every obstacle and giving Him the glory for all that you are.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder - 31 August 2012 (Rich)

My prayer for you for today is that you will come to realize your need for God in your life, in Jesus name.

Revelation 3:17
You say, 'I am rich. I have everything I want. I don't need a thing!' And you don't realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

Rich - You say, 'I am rich. Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!" This amazed them. But Jesus said again, "Dear children, it is very hard to enter the Kingdom of God. In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!"(Mark 25)

How easily do we tend to forget God in our lives? Take a moment and forget about all the worldly things that occupies your mind and empty your thoughts, clear your mind and renew your focus on God. Remember fame and fortune cannot take you to heaven, only Jesus can. There is nothing we can do on this earth out of our own to grand us passage to heaven, it is only through Jesus that you will enter the gates of heaven and pass the trial that lies ahead.

My dear friend, it is in our humble dependence of God and by diligently following His word that we will truly see and truly understand. It is in our conviction in Him and in His word that we will find our purpose and free ourselves from an empty world to become purpose driven mirrors that reflects His glory. God’s glory cannot be seen in our possessions and in our success, but only in our hearts.

Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God."

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder - 30 August 2012 (Luke warm)

My prayer for you for today is that you will passionately live for Jesus Christ, in Jesus name.

Revelation 3:15-16
"I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!

Luke warm - I will spit you out of my mouth. This is such a familiar scripture, yet so many ignore the warning Jesus gives here. When we talk about warm and cold, the Holy Spirit has shown me love as a good comparison this morning. You see, when you are in love the world seems to end. All that usually happened seems to come to a standstill and all that you are focuses on this love. Inside your heart it burns and you just can’t seem to get enough of it. It is all around you, when you eat, when you sleep and when you talk. It is in your walk, in your words and in your smile. Love is uncontrollable and overwhelming.

My dear friend, when we follow Jesus, it is not just something we should say we do, it should be everything that we are. Jesus says in Matthew 12: "Anyone who isn't with me opposes me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me.” We should take this warning very seriously and live completely for Him in all that we do and in all that we are and in all that we say. Our lives should resemble His heart and His ways.

Where are you today? Are you lukewarm? Come with me as we fire up our hearts for Jesus and live to be His mirror and His word for all that we meet.

Live passionately for Jesus, because a passionate heart is an undivided heart.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder - 29 August 2012 (Victory)

My prayer for you for today is that you will be victorious in life, in Jesus name.

Revelation 3:5
All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and His angels that they are mine.

Victory belongs to the most persevering (Napoleon Bonaparte). The battles we face in life can be small and they can be overwhelming. Each day we continue to live and each day we continue in our struggles - surviving, searching and fighting. Some days are good and some days are bad, sometimes we face small waves and sometimes we face massive waves, sometimes there is only one wave and sometimes they just keep on coming.

My dear friend, victory in life will result in the ultimate reward. When you are in the midst of your battle and you feel you cannot carry on, look to Jesus. He will come to your aide and give you strength to succeed, to be victorious, so that in the end He can announce before the Father that you are His and clothe you in white.

The surest way not to fail is to determine to succeed (Richard Brinsley Sheridan)

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder - 28 August 2012 (Beginning)

My prayer for you for today is that God will always be your beginning and end of everything in your lives, in Jesus name.

Revelation 1:8
"I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end," says the Lord God. "I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One."

Beginning - I am the Alpha and the Omega. As the new day dawns here in a warm and beautiful South Africa, I can’t help to think of the day that lies ahead. Every day that we live is a gift and in every day we have so many opportunities to glorify God in all that we do. Is God your beginning and end of each day? Do you give Him all the glory for all that you have and do? Do you only turn to God when there is trouble in you day?

My dear friend, God is, was and will always be. He is the creator of the universe and the only one who brings freedom in our lives. Make God the beginning and end of every day, every moment, every success and every drawback in your life and then you will be far more successful even when things do not go as planned. When God is in the situation, nothing can pull it apart. Place God first in your lives and love those around you as you seek His guidance in every moment of every day.

"Our only power and success comes from God." (2 Corinthians 3:5)

I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed. (Michael Jordan)

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus
