Today Reminder – 04 May 2017

A reminder for today
You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel. (Hebrews 12:24)

When you love someone, you love the whole person. All that they are. Their whole being. You accept them completely with all their mistakes and all their faults. You will even go out of your way to help them better themselves, because of your love for them. Many people make the mistake to think that you must earn God’s love by being a perfect person and if you have made mistakes in your life, God will not accept you. Now let me tell you that forgiveness is one of the most powerful weapons we have against evil. Forgiveness towards other, but most importantly is self-forgiveness.

It is much easier to forgive someone else, than to forgive yourself. This grip of sin on you is driven by the enemy who continuously reminds you of your flaws. Jesus did not die for the good ones only. He died for all. He also said; "Healthy people don't need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent."

He loves you! He loves you just as you are, and when you truly repent and ask for His forgiveness, he will forgive you. He will go out of His way to help you and heal you so that you can completely forgive yourself. It is a process, but it is one that you are not alone in. He knows you better than you know yourself and there is nothing He wants more than for you to be the whole person you are. Do not allow the world to define who you are, but find your definition in Jesus.

You have come to Jesus. He accepts you just as you are and He adores you. He loves you so much that He gave His life for you. Let the brokenness go and start with healing and forgiveness. I will walk this journey with you as we seek Him more and more. He is the light of the world and the hope of all nations.

Lord, walk with us as we journey towards you. Help us to heal our brokenness and find forgiveness. We thank you for your grace and we give you our hearts. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 03 May 2017

A reminder for today
So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong. (Hebrews 12:12-13)

When Jesus was being tempted by Satan, He answered, “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). We are told in Ephesians 6:17 to “take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Jesus demonstrated we need the actual recorded words of God to overcome Satan’s attacks.

To be a Christian to me means that you must accept the Word of God. First, you accept Jesus as your saviour and then you accept the Word of God, the Bible, as your manual to Christianity. There is power in God’s Word and to arm ourselves with it, we make us less vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy. God’s word is one of His ways to communicate to us and to guide us.

Our strength is in the Lord, but in His Word also. Therefore, if we want to take a new grip on life and strengthen our weak knees so that we can stand again, we need to take His Word and make it part of our daily lives. The Word will help us to mark a straight path so that when we are weak we will not fall.

Jesus said if you seek you shall find and I seek Him and so my journey starts with His Word. The Word of God is infallible. There is no error in God's Word. The law of the Lord is perfect concerning our soul. The testimony of the Lord is not only infallible it is inerrant. Proverbs 30:5-6, "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar." The purity of His words does not need anything added to it. God warns us not to misrepresent His scripture.

The Word of God will accomplish what it promises. If God told you something will happen, and you wait, it will happen. In Isaiah 55:11 it says, "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." God sent His word to accomplish His perfect will in our lives. If God makes a promise to you He will fulfill it in His own time. There are so many promises given to us in the Bible. These promises reassure us and bring comfort to our lives in our times of trial. I challenge you to take time to study the Word of God. The Lord will show you wonderful things that will change your life.

Lord, hear our hearts and open our eyes to the things unseen. Open your Word to us and let us desire more time with you. Let us arm ourselves with your Word and stand firm on your foundation. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 02 May 2017

A reminder for today
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)

Wow, we had another public holiday yesterday and I must admit all these public holidays are making me lazy. This morning I logged in and looked at the battle of words that took place between us and the atheists on twitter. It made me realise once more how difficult it is for the lost to let go of this world and seek their way to God. Every person knows deep inside them that there is a God and they will continue to argue just to make themselves feel better. So many witnesses of faith surround us. We have seen God’s work in our lives in so many ways from one miracle to the next. Why do we allow sin to burden us and pull us down? You can argue all you like, but I know God is more than real. God is the reason I live and breathe each day. I live by His mercy and grace and this is something we should never take for granted.

I have seen God heal my broken foot in a miraculous short period to astound doctors. I have seen God save me from a life threatening accident and I see God in my two boys. Their very existence is a miracle. God is as real to me as you are to me. I was blessed this weekend with rest and I grabbed it with both hands. The last two years has really soaked up my energy and with a constant workload and changes in our company I just felt so tired. This weekend God just restored me as I rested. God is so good to us and I am in awe of His majesty in every moment of each day. I see Him at work in my life and feel His presence every moment. That is why I pray for you each day and I carry you in my heart, dear friend. You are so valuable to God that He gave His son for your sins. There is no greater love, than to lay down your life for another. That is why I gladly give my life for Jesus. So let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Moreover, break the hold of sin so that we can live free.

Lord, carry us in your hands through this day and lift us up so that we can shine for you. Let us wear your armour fearlessly and confidently. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
