Today Reminder – 27 September 2016

A reminder for today
From now on, don't let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus. (Galatians 6:17)

We all carry scars. There are real scars from injuries and then there is life scars. These are the ones we can’t see but they are there. They are in our hearts and in our minds. Some are healing and some are just to deep to go away. Scars can be from bad experiences we had or from hurt that we went through. Some of our scars are visible from what we say and do, but some of our scars we hide because we are either embarrassed of them or we are afraid they will make people dislike us.

The fact is that when you give your life to Jesus, He takes all those scars on Him to the cross and He destroys them. He takes us and wipes our past clean. This means that all those scars are gone and they should have no effect on who we are. To keep them alive is to place yourself in bondage. This is something that we open to allow the enemy to have a hold on our lives and it could make you fall again.

The only scars you should have is the the scars that shows the world that you belong to Jesus. These are battle scars from a life that follows His voice and lives by His Word. These are also that scars that the enemy fears, for they makes us stronger in Jesus.

There is nothing from you past that should hold you back, my friend. You are amazing and you are strong. So today stand up and show your scars, because the ones in your past is healed, but the ones that connect you with Jesus is well worth showing.

Lord, take our past and clear it from our minds so that we can battle on for you each day. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 26 September 2016

A reminder for today
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct. (Galatians 6:4-5)

Work is really scarce here in South Africa and if you have one you are fortunate. There are so many that walk the streets and stand begging at our robots. If you visit a township and you see the poverty there it really opens your eyes. We went to help the Zama Zama community on Friday to paint a room at the school where they want to make a baby room. This is an informal settlement and it is severe poverty that you see when you enter this township. Watching those kids play and laugh really touched my heart again and I was taken back to my days as a teacher. I remembered how gratifying teaching is.

I went home on Friday with an immensely grateful heart for we have so much in comparison to other. I came in to work yesterday to catch up on some stuff that I wanted to complete and I realized how blessed I am to have a good job. My dad always said that hard work rewards you and we should look at work and do it to please God. It is God that gave us our talents to be able to do our jobs and we should do our best all the time. If you give it your all and you do your best you will never need to compare yourself to other. Each one of us is responsible for his own work and you should do it with pride.

So today I want you to work with pride and to do your best all the time. Be grateful for what you have and thank God for the blessings in your life. We do not need much to live and succeed so live with contempt with what you have and honor God with what you do.

Lord, today I bring our work to you and I pray that you bless us in what we do so that we will glorify you in it. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 23 September 2016

A reminder for today
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. (Galatians 6:1)

Wow, what an awesome verse. The world has become a dreadful pace of hate, jealousy and deceit. I have always been a huge fan of Angelina and Brat and when they got together I did not see it as leave Jennifer for Angelina but rather that two compatible hearts that met each other. Their divorce is obviously not a nice subject yet the world publicly scrutinize them and so many people are quick to jump on the judgement wagon. We are all suddenly holy and without fault as we make our own assumptions on their sorrow. The fact is that they are also just human and if they found an area where they cannot solve their problems and separation is the only way so be it. So many go through that same ordeal daily and yet we are all very quick to raise our voice and have an opinion.

I love this verse because Paul says that instead of judging and punishing we should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. So instead of thinking ourselves better than other we should humble ourselves and be someone that stands by them and help them. Everyone makes mistakes and to act as if you have never made a mistake is purely selfish and ridiculous.

So today I want you to see other as people for they all just human and they all make mistakes. Some make more mistakes than other but we are all loved and forgiven by the same God and we are all the same in His eye. Do not judge and do not assume. Be the voice of reason that will lead the lost back to the Lord instead of destroying the last of what is left of them.

Lord, in your hands I lay us all today and I pray that you will heal and renew all our hearts and lead us onto the right path for your glory. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
