Today Reminder – 06 July 2016

 A reminder for today
But I wish everyone were single, just as I am. Yet each person has a special gift from God, of one kind or another. (1 Corinthians 7:7)

It is a chilly morning when I woke and it felt as if the cold penetrated my clothes and passed through to my bones. I shivered when I walked out into the cold on my way to the gym. I stood in the que as we waited for them to open and for a moment I looked at all the other people. Each one so uniquely created and each one so perfectly made by a loving God. I saw how they react when they see someone they know and how they chat with excitement on what they will do today. I looked at what they wore and how they walked in and I realised again that each one has a special gift from God. Something that is uniquely you and that something that sets you apart from the rest. Each one has that special way of how they are and how they live.

Paul writes here in 1 Corinthians 7 about marriage and how men and woman should behave in their relationships. It is all quite important and very interesting that even then Paul knew more about marriages than the average marriage counsellor today. What caught my eye where these words: Yet each person has a special gift from God, of one kind or another.

Even in relationships we have certain gifts that God made us with that helps us form solid relationships. It is our uniqueness that causes friction in relationships, but it can also be used to build a better relationship. You see when we accept the differences in other we become more like God and in a sense we start to see people like He wants us to see them. Each one unique and each one special.

So today I want you to tolerate a little more and accept a little easier. To avoid conflict by understanding more and to give more of yourself. Friendship is one the most important things in life and we should never treat friendship as if it is an everyday thing. Our relationships with other will reflect in our relationship with God and if we see all our relationships as special and priceless we will be the same towards God.

Lord I pray for contempt and peace in our hearts today so that we will understand easier and accept more without conflict or anger. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 05 July 2016

 A reminder for today
Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honour God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Your body is holy and you should treat it like that. Paul writes here in 1 Corinthians 6 that we should run from evil and keep it away from our bodies. We must refrain from cheating, stealing, worshipping idols, adultery and sexual sin. Our bodies are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit and we should do anything in our power to keep our bodies a holy place.

Paul’s words cut like a knife through my soul as I remember my mistakes and how I did not treat my body as a holy place. It has taken me a long time to come to terms with my own forgiveness and to find a place where I can talk to the Lord again without condemning myself. We make mistakes and we seek forgiveness. Jesus bought this forgiveness with His blood, but the enemy continues to condemn us and make us feel unworthy.

When the Lord cleanses you, you are clear of all sin and made right by God. In accepting the Lord, we accept His forgiveness. We are no longer bound by our past but we are made free with the future that now awaits us.

You are so special to the Lord and He seeks nothing less than to bring you back to Him and break the chains of a dark world. You are free and you should live as a free person. Soar like an eagle and fly high above this world on the wings of the Lord. Let the winds of change sweep over you and let the Holy Spirit lead you to complete freedom.

Lord we submit once again our hearts and souls to you and we ask that you reconcile us with you so that we will be more like you and less like this world. Let us soar with you high above our challenges as we feel you comforting hand on our lives. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 04 July 2016

 A reminder for today
So don't make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due. (1 Corinthians 4:5)

I love taking time off to visit the Kruger National Park here in South Africa. It is one of my favourite places and more so because you get so close to nature. I went for a jog through the camp every morning as the sun rose and what a blessing. It is so amazing to be in the midst of God’s creation and to experience it so close. Every moment is one that you can treasure.

It reminded me this morning of life and how we live it. How do we treat other and how do we see other? How do we talk to other and how do we react? Paul writes here that we should not make judgements about anyone else, because when the Lord returns all our darkest secrets will come to light. This is a serious point and it made me stop to think about my past and the mistakes I have made. I do not want to embarrass the Lord anymore and I do not want to live a life that is not there to glorify Him.

So today I want to remind you that we are here for a short while and that you should make the most of every moment. Live, love and be good to other. Follow the Lord and His guidance so that you will bring glory to Him and when He will return He will praise you for the life you lived. It is not what you did in the past that matters, it is what you do from here onwards.

Lord, give me the knowledge to make the right choices and guide me through each day so that I will follow your voice every step of the way. In Jesus name.

I missed you, my friend. May God bless you and keep you safe through today.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
