With yet another Jurassic park movie coming out soon here in South Africa, Hollywood is trying its best to confuse the world with their ridiculous representation of creation. I have never been a huge fan of these movies, because of the millions and millions of years story and the whole asteroid destroyed all the dinosaurs lie that is forced down our throats. I came across this article by the institute of creation and I think you will enjoy this.

Did an impact or the Flood kill the Dinosaurs? Three science clues help answer this question.

One clue is frogs. An impact powerful enough to demolish thick-skinned, tough, monstrous dinosaurs all over the world surely would have erased thin-skinned amphibians first. The same goes for certain sensitive clams, but that didn’t happen. Frog and clam fossils found near dinosaur bone fossils look the same as today’s frogs and clams. Harmful chemicals go right through porous frog skin, and silt chokes clam gills, so how did they survive and not dinosaurs?

Next, where is the impact crater? An impact large enough to wipe out all the world’s dinosaurs should have left a huge, round pit. Most scientists who study this think a region beneath the southern Gulf of Mexico and northern Yucatan Peninsula represents the impact site. However, others disagree for good reasons.

For one thing, the underground feature at that site is not round. Plus, an impact with worldwide destructive force would have melted rocks, but the site has very little melted rock. The rocks down there don’t need an impact to explain them. Magma that rose from the depths could have made the rocks the way we see them today. Why should we believe an impact killed the dinosaurs if we can’t find a crater that fills the bill?

The size and shape of rock layers give us a third clue that the Genesis Flood, not an asteroid impact, best explains the dinosaur fossils they contain. Each of these rock layers can cover thousands of square miles! A single layer can cover several states. For example, the Hell Creek and Lance Formations were deposited at the same time. They span Montana and Wyoming, plus parts of other states.

How could an impact way down in Mexico deposit this thick layer so far away? An impact should make a wedge-shaped layer, with mud thinning out from the crater. But actual dinosaur layers keep the same thickness for hundreds of miles. Noah’s Flood could do that.

The Bible says that surging Flood waters took months to cover the whole globe. Sure enough, dinosaurs got buried in mud on every continent. And this Flood happened about 4,500 years ago, not 66 million years ago. Science supports this, too. Erosion over millions of years would have carved ruts. Where are the expected ruts between the layers? Instead of erosion ruts, the upper surface of each layer looks flat, as though hardly any time passed before the next layer was laid on top of it by the next huge Flood surge.

Also, flexible animal tissues still persist inside many fossilized dinosaur bones. Blood vessels, hemoglobin proteins, and whole bone cells could never last one million years, let alone 67 million. These rocks and fossils look young.

Did an asteroid impact kill the dinosaurs millions of years ago? No way. Noah’s recent Flood formed dinosaur fossils fast all over the world.

A reminder for today

And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone. (Numbers 11:17)

Our current theme in church is that prophets are not just men with beards. These men play a vital role in kingdom of God. The word “Prophecy” means: -> a prediction of what will happen in the future. Prophecy is one of the spiritual gifts Paul said we should have and it is far more important than speaking in tongues. I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? (1 Corinthians 14)

A prophecy is a message inspired by God, a divine revelation. The Bible says that prophets “spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit.” (2 Peter 1: ​20, 21) So a prophet is one who receives God’s message and transmits it to others. ​—Acts 3: ​18.

The spiritual gift of prophecy is listed among the gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12:10 and Romans 12:6. The Greek word translated “prophesying” or “prophecy” in both passages properly means to “speak forth” or declare the divine will, to interpret the purposes of God, or to make known in any way the truth of God which is designed to influence people. Many people misunderstand the gift of prophecy to be the ability to predict the future. While knowing something about the future may sometimes have been an aspect of the gift of prophecy, it was primarily a gift of proclamation (“forth-telling”), not prediction (“fore-telling”).

Also, note the transition from prophet to teacher in 2 Peter 2:1: “There were false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you” (emphasis added). Peter indicates that the Old Testament age had prophets, whereas the church will have teachers. The spiritual gift of prophecy, in the sense of receiving new revelations from God to be proclaimed to others, ceased with the completion of the Bible. During the time that prophecy was a revelatory gift, it was to be used for the edification, exhortation, and comfort of men (1 Corinthians 14:3). The modern gift of prophecy, which is really more akin to teaching, still declares the truth of God. What has changed is that the truth of God today has already been fully revealed in His Word, while, in the early church, it had not yet been fully revealed.

Christians are to be very wary of those who claim to have a “new” message from God. It is one thing to say, “I had an interesting dream last night.” However, it is quite another matter to say, “God gave me a dream last night, and you must obey it.” No utterance of man should be considered equal to or above the written Word. We must hold to the Word that God has already given and commit ourselves to scripture alone

Today Reminder (Money, money, money) – 1 June 2018

A reminder for today

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (1 Timothy 6:8-11)

Content. Let’s look at content for a moment. According to the dictionary content means in a state of peaceful happiness. Content I suppose is one of the things our world struggles the most with. People are just not happy with what they have. And if you think about it the world drives on the need of something you do not need. There is always a new phone or a new face lift on an existing car or improvements that is better in the new version. The world drives the worldly person and flourishes on a worldly mind set. 

Now when you think about it and I am careful here, but money is the driving force behind so much evil. If you think about it all our leaders and many of our officials are money hungry. Our previous president openly stole money from the government to finance his luxurious homestead. So many people are driven by the greed of more and more and if we are not careful we can easily fall into the same trap.

I often look at the new cars and their specs and I tell you one always dreams, but I soon have to pull myself back to the reality of content and what I have is enough. Timothy makes a very clear statement here and it has been proven over and over again. He says that the rich will fall into temptation and a snare of many foolish and hurtful lusts which will drown them into destruction and perdition (punishment). He goes on and says that the love of money is the root of all evil. The lust for more is the root of all evil. The desire for “stuff’ is the root of evil. The whole land reform is the root of all evil. 

Why do we desire that which someone else has? People work hard to make a success of their businesses and then other will desire that instead of doing the same. Work hard and make you own success. If you steer clear of evil and do it for God’s glory, He will surely bless your efforts and your work. But it is easier to take than to work. It is easier to blame than to work for it. Why are there so many problems in this world? It is greed that stirs up lust and desire and it often ends in disaster. 

Now, man/woman of God flee from these things and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
