Today Reminder – 7 November 2014 (Day 5 – Moments)

A reminder for today
So don't be too good or too wise! Why destroy yourself? On the other hand, don't be too wicked either. Don't be a fool! Why die before your time? (Ecclesiastes 7:16-17)

I always say that everyone dies and that we should never look at death as a bad thing. Death eventually comes to us all, because such is the way of life. We are not made too live forever here on earth, we are made to live a life for Jesus and then live eternally after this life. Lately there have been so many stories in the news about suicides here in South-Africa. People who jumped from high buildings and then the worst one so far were of a twelfth year old boy who took his own life.

So today my moment is about life and death and how short life really is. If I say that life is short and that you should not waste a single moment allowing evil to take your happiness from you and  you could have a thousand arguments that will follow with bad things that happen to good people. Sometimes people are so affected by bad things or bad times that they tend to give up. When your safety net is destroyed and you are left vulnerable to the world and the evil that lies within it, you can so easily be pushed to your limits.

My friend, you might not understand what I am about to say, but I pray that the Lord will give you guidance in this. This life, this world and this body is all only temporary. They will all end and be destroyed when you reach your destination. It is the Spirit that lives in the body that is truly you and who you really are. This Spirit is in God’s hands and nothing can reach it unless you allow it. Although you feel the pain and hurt that the body produces, it will have no effect in eternity. So, do not allow the enemy to fill your mind with nonsense but instead allow God to fill your Spirt with life. This spring of life will never run dry and it will leave you content and fulfilled with and abundance of joy that can never be taken from you. It is the Jesus factor that changes our hurt into joy. Although the memory remains, the way we look towards tomorrow will never be the same again when we see Jesus in our lives the way we were intended to see Him. Jesus died so that we can live, but He never said that this live is going to be easy. He said it is going to be tough, but He will never leave us to face it alone. Seek Him my friend and make Him part of your pain and your joy. This way, you will not fall. You will rise above all.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 6 November 2014 (Day 4 – Moments)

A reminder for today
Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there's no use arguing with God about your destiny. (Ecclesiastes 6:10)

Wow! There are definitely two sides to this verse. You can read this and see only the negative in accepting your fate as your destiny is already written or you can look at these verse from a Jesus perspective and know that no matter what is written into the story of your life, Jesus has already defeated death and taken away all your sins which means that you have a fairy tale ending to your story. When I say fairy tale ending I mean “And they lived happily ever after”.

Your ever after is a life with Jesus in eternity and this is more than any fairy tale can ever make up. Your destiny is written in the blood on the cross so you are destined for a better life. I know we must accept and be content with our lives as they are here on earth, but we can take an average life and make it a great life by the way we walk with Jesus and live to bring glory to Him.

Accept your destiny and make your life great for His glory. Be more than average, be a child of God and a friend to Jesus. Be limitless and just do it.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder – 5 November 2014 (Day 3 – Moments)

A reminder for today
Today I am thinking of moments in life that we shine and in these moments we feel complete joy and freedom. These are the moments that we cherish and keep in our hearts. They are sometimes memories that we have that keeps us going and keeps us focussed. Sometimes they are moments that we wish we could have again or do again. You know what I mean, because I am sure you have those saved up deep within your heart. Some of these moments could be unexplainable and you are completely sure that God was in those moments. They could be life altering or emotional moments. But you know God was there, because of the feeling you had in the moment and it is the one thing you always remember.

So today I want you to remember that there is a time for everything. And everything is based on God’s time. That is why it is always perfect when we wait for God’s time. He’s time is the right time.

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

And sometimes, there is a time to let go and start again.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 4 November 2014 (Day 2 – Moments)

A reminder for today
And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God's purpose is that people should fear him. (Ecclesiastes 3:14)

Everything feels so distant today. I feel as if I am on a different planet looking down on earth and seeing everything happening except I have no control over anything. Today I question so many things and wonder why God allow so many wrongs. I always say that everything happens with a purpose, but today I do not see the purpose and it is driving me insane. I know whatever God does is final, yet we allow so many of God’s wonderful works to be lost and destroyed.

Today I think about the fact that we should fear God and how ignorant and arrogant we are towards that. My Moment weighs heavy on me as I realise that I too have become arrogant in that sense and that I need to change my direction. Attitude plays such a vital role in our lives and how we are towards other and towards ourselves. Sometimes my attitude really stinks and I know that I need to change my focus back to the Lord.

My dear friend, when we do not see the purpose and we have forgotten our destination we need to turn back too God. We need to seek His stability and His guidance. We need to go back to our knees and pray. We need to spend more time with Him and less time in the world. The world will corrupt us, but God will free us. Let us break the chains and look up to the Light so that we can destroy the shadows.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 3 November 2014 (Day 1 – Moments)

A reminder for today
"Everything is meaningless," says the Teacher, "completely meaningless!" (Ecclesiastes 1:2)

I feel that this month we will talk around “Moments”. When I say Moments, I mean our Moments with God. So each day I will share with you what I felt the Moment when the Holy Spirit shared God’s Word with me. I will wright as the Words come to mind, but I will also share a little more of me this time. I look forward to open my heart and allow the Holy Spirit to fill me with God’s amazing Word.

So today I start with a bold statement: Everything is meaningless. Have you had a moment like that? I think every person somewhere and somehow comes to a point where they feel like that. Where we just had enough and we just want it to end. I have been thinking about these words quite often lately and I must admit, they tend to make you negative. We allow our own emotions to determine our state of mind or vice versa. I love the words “A positive mind can overcome all obstacles”. I believe that the way we think and the way we allow these thoughts to impact on us, makes us more susceptible to bad and negative reactions. It determines our results even before we start.

Here is a mind changer for you: I believe that with God we can do anything and we overcome anything, we can change our past and determine our future. We can alter history and we can know our destiny. I know that with God all is possible and we need to accept this in faith and live by it. I know my life is still going to change in many ways and I will embrace these changes with open arms knowing it is in His plan. So now I say: “Everything has a meaning”. We need to find God in it and follow Him.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus
