Today Reminder - 23 August 2013 (God did it)

A reminder for today
"God did it!" David exclaimed. "He used me to burst through my enemies like a raging flood!" (1 Chronicles 14:11)

This is one thing about David; he knew that all that he accomplished was because God gave it to him. He became king because God wanted it and he defeated his enemies because it was God who gave him these victories.

We started this week with the knowledge and confirmation that God is with us and that we as mighty warriors do not need to fear anything, for with God all is possible. God also wanted us to turn to Him and move away from any idols and place our focus on Him as we love Him with all our hearts and soul.

My dear friend let us end this week giving God all the glory for all that He has done in our lives. Sometime we just need to humble ourselves before God again and give Him glory as we confirm God’s hand at work in our lives. I also want to say "God did it!" every time I succeed and every time I accomplish something. God is my strength and my wisdom. He is the reason I am where I am and that I have succeeded where I have succeeded.

It is tempting to say, then, that giving glory to God is simply a matter of integrity and honesty, that it is a matter of giving credit where credit is due. But the Bible is calling for more than this: the Bible is calling for us to behold the glory of God, which is manifested in a variety of ways, to prize and love and rejoice and stand in awe of the glory of God, and then, with glad and sincere hearts, to declare the beauty of what we have seen, first to God and then to others.

And hence John Piper’s now famous dictum, God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder - 22 August 2013 (Fight)

A reminder for today
Here is the record of David's mightiest warriors: The first was Jashobeam the Hacmonite, who was leader of the Three—the mightiest warriors among David's men. He once used his spear to kill 300 enemy warriors in a single battle. (1 Chronicles 11:11)

I don’t know about you but killing 300 men in battle with a spear is pretty awesome. David’s mighty warriors were men like we have never seen before. These men were fearless and strong and nothing could stand in their way as they lived to serve their king and their God. Their accomplishments are noted in remarkable circumstances where the odds seemed impossible.

My dear friend, I feel that the Lord wants to count you among His mighty warriors. The Lord wants you to stand up and rise above your circumstances so that you will be seen as a mighty warrior in God. The enemy will fear your faith and your spirit as you live to serve our King the Lord.

Come and join the battle lines with me today as we take on this day fearless and faithful. Let the enemy beware, because we are the mighty warriors of God who will break through the enemy lines and walk victorious alongside our Lord.

Remember these three things for today oh mighty warrior:
(1) With God everything is possible (Matthew 19:26)
(2) The LORD says, "I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.” (Psalm 91:14)
(3) Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:33)

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder - 21 August 2013 (Invaded)

A reminder for today
So on January 15, during the ninth year of Zedekiah's reign, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon led his entire army against Jerusalem. They surrounded the city and built siege ramps against its walls. Jerusalem was kept under siege until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah's reign. (2 Kings 25:1-2)

These things happened because of the Lord's anger against the people of Jerusalem and Judah, until he finally banished them from his presence and sent them into exile. (2 Kings 24)

All the years of angering the Lord and all the kings that did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord led to this time when Judah and Jerusalem fell in the hands of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I was thinking of how great things were for the people of Israel and Judah when the invaded the promised land and how rich their lives were when they followed God and did what was right. How did they end up here and how did they go from following God and living in prosperity to turning away from God and worshipping idols and pagan gods to end in poverty losing everything.

My dear friend, this week I feel that the Lord is warning us against prosperity followed by idolatry. It is easy to forget what God has done when all is well and our lives are blessed. We tend to forget that even in these wonderful times God is still looking out for us and none is from our own ability but it is all from His gracious hand. God is here and He is calling to you and He wants to confirm His presence in your live and establish a relationship with you that will look past idols and create a constant focus on Him so that with every breath you and I will know that He is the one who provides and He is the one who looks out for us. Nothing should invade our lives and corrupt our hearts when we are constantly focussed on the Lord our God.

This week is a week where the Lord just wants us to know He is there. He is with us and He wants us to relax and ignore all the noise of this world and just find Him and focus on Him. He wants us to acknowledge Him and spend time with Him and hear His voice and just listen. He wants us to be peaceful and forget about all the worries and just completely focus our hearts and souls on Him. He is my centre and my all and on Him I will focus even when my mind is in turmoil.

I am the LORD; there is no other God. (Isaiah 45:5)

Today Reminder - 20 August 2013 (The Voice)

A reminder for today
This is what the LORD says… (2 Kings 22:16)

I woke up this morning and I lay awake. What was it that I heard or was it a dream or was it a shake. A gentle breeze it must have been or was it someone I have not seen. I waited and waited until I could not wait another wait. Where could it be? It is suddenly as quiet as a mouse yet I knew somewhere it must be. Slowly I stood up not too slow and not too fast, for I knew surely it might past.

I looked around the room almost sweeping like a gentle broom. I listened and listened and did not hear a sound or even a snore. All was quiet and all was dark. I walked around the house looking and listening but none except a distant bark. What was it and where could it be or was it only me?

Finally I sat down wondering and listening. I was sure I heard a whispering or did I hear a tampering. Oh my goodness I must be mad or losing my mind. That is so sad. Then I heard it again soft and gentle like a breeze blowing past my beard and into my face in a slow and peaceful pace.

It suddenly came from within and I felt a bounce in my beat as my heart jumped out of its seat. A wonderful delight of a voice of might as a God of creation spoke in a quiet heart ration. A voice so clear in time, made me write this funky rhyme, so that you would know a living God is up and about to transform your day without a shout. So jump up with me as our hearts pump with Godly love and peace and we shout with joy about a life full of conquests with a God not afraid of any contest.

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)

Today Reminder - 19 August 2013 (Rebuild)

A reminder for today
Never before had there been a king like Josiah, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and soul and strength, obeying all the laws of Moses. And there has never been a king like him since. (2 Kings 23:25)

It is Monday again. The weeks seem to end so quickly and time seems to be getting faster. I must be imagining it but my days also seem shorter. I don’t know what things are like with you, my dear friend, but I do know we should use our time responsibly. Josiah was the first king after a few that did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight. Those before him worshipped idols and did terrible things that caused the Lord’s anger to flare up against His people. Josiah restored the temple and destroyed all the pagan shrines and made the people follow the laws of the Lord as it was written. Josiah did so much good that there were no other that could compare to him and he turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul.

My dear friend, I want to start this week on the right foot. Just like Josiah I want to turn to the Lord with all my heart and all my strength and all my soul. Let us invite the Lord into our lives today so that He can help us clear away all the bad and restore our “temples” so that we can be new again. Let the Lord fill you with His Holy Spirit and let Him clear away all that hampers us so that there will be nothing that keeps us away from Him and blocks His voice. Let us rebuild, renew and start fresh focussing all of hearts and soul on the Lord. Let us be followers of the Lord like there have never been before in our time.

Jesus replied, "'You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:37-40)

Come my friend and let us make these words our very own in this week as we give our hearts completely to the Lord.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
