Today Reminder – 24 July 2015 (Day 13 – Forward)

A reminder for today

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you and your children from east and west.” (Isaiah 43:5)

Moving forward can be a scary thing at times. It feels as if you are blind folded while you try to walk on a wall. You carefully take each step feeling your way forward careful not to step of the edge, because you have no idea how high the wall is. Life is very similar to that and we often find ourselves in unfamiliar areas where we are careful to take a wrong step or even take a step.

As we step out and onto our wall, the Lord reminds us today that He is with us and we should not be afraid. He will gather us and our children (or family or friends) from the east and the west. He will carry us over that wall and He will remove our mistakes (transgressions) as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). 

This distance between the east and the west represents God’s endless love and His endless determination to see us succeed. He wants us to open our hearts and trust His guidance. So when we walk out on that wall. We will follow His voice that will guide us, but not only will He guide us by giving us direction, He will also stand beside the wall to catch our feet when we slip just to place them back on the wall so that we can safely continue.

Today the Lord reminds us that we can step forward into the unknown and He will take us through it.

Today Reminder – 23 July 2015 (Day 12 – Forward)

A reminder for today

"But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. (Isaiah 43:18-19)

I stand at a crossroad today afraid of the past and jittery about the future.  You see at times I wonder where am I going and how will I ever succeed when I have so much that weighs down in my shoulders. I am afraid to take a step, because I fear that I will make the same mistakes as before. So today I find myself a little lost and unsure what to make of all this. I am sure you have found yourself in a position where you do not know what to do nor which direction to choose.

Today the Lord answers me with this: But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do, for I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun!

Just when I feel at my weakest the Lord comes and changes my view completely. The Lord says that He will create rivers in the dry wasteland. I see this as the difficulties that lie ahead and the burdens that I carry with me. When the Lord says He will create rivers in a dry land, it means that where there once was nothing, there will be lush vegetation and forests. There will be life where there once was death and fear. There will be victory where there once was failure and despair. The Lord says that He will create a pathway through the wilderness. This to me means that He will show us the way through the fears that bind us. He will guide us in our journey and lead us through this wilderness filled with danger and fear to a new place where we will be free so that His new start will be visible to all.

So let us forget the past that holds us back and embrace what the Lord is about to do in our lives. Let us walk through the wilderness of life and into the dry wasteland now filled with life and an abundance of blessings that will fill us from top to bottom as the strength of the Lord breaks our worries and pull us up and into His presence.

Let the rivers flow as we move forward in our boats on this rollercoaster called life, fearless and victorious.

Today Reminder – 22 July 2015 (Day 11 – Forward)

A reminder for today

Sing a new song to the LORD! Sing his praises from the ends of the earth! Sing, all you who sail the seas, all you who live in distant coastlands. (Isaiah 42:10)

Lord today we step forward into your light and we celebrate you wonderful blessings. We walk faithful on our journey towards you and we lift up our hands to rejoice in your mercy and grace. Lord let us sing a new song to you as we change our direction and focus our compass on you. Let us sing your praises from the ends of the earth. From the east to the west and from the north to the south, let all celebrate your love and the wonderful blessings we receive to compassionately from you.

Let us speak life on everything we do and on everyone we meet. Let us enter this day with renewed hope and higher sense of faith as we take your words and make them part of who we are. Let our songs touch the broken hearted and lift up the ones who are at their end. Let our voices touch the hearts of those in need and let our warmth free the lost from their chains.

Let your amazing grace break the silence and show you to all and all around us. Let your love touch our deepest fears and lift our spirits so that we can dance again. Put life back into our bones so that we can run and never walk again.

Let us sail through our storms and sing your praises as the wind stops to howl and the storms are quietly broken so that we can walk on a clear ocean, fearless and full of faith.

Lift us up and let us feel your touch, see your glory and follow your way.

Today Reminder – 21 July 2015 (Day 10 – Forward)

A reminder for today

"Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, who pleases me. I have put my Spirit upon him.
He will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or raise his voice in public. He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. He will bring justice to all who have been wronged. He will not falter or lose heart until justice prevails throughout the earth. Even distant lands beyond the sea will wait for his instruction." (Isaiah 42:1-4)

As we move forward and past our challenges towards the Light of Jesus, it is once again a privilege to read through Isaiah. These verses are the prophecy that came to life in Jesus Christ. But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them, but he warned them not to reveal who he was. This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah concerning him (Matthew 12:15-17)

Just as God had a goal and a mission with Jesus His only Son, He also has a goal and a mission for each one of us. We are here in this time with a special purpose. Each one of us carefully designed and strategically placed to fulfil this mission. Each one of us connected through the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. We follow His voice as the Holy Spirit guides us in the Lord’s instruction. 

Why look back when your goal is ahead of you. Why worry about your challenges when God brought them over you to show His glory and His love. Why fear when you are following a living God.

So today we start on our mission as we journey forward towards our goal. We are here for His glory and we are here to show Him to a world that has forgotten Him. We are here to show that God is our strength in our weakness. He is in our triumphs and in our failures. He is with us through all that we live through each and every moment of our lives.

Come with me today as we renew our goals and realign us with His purpose. Let the Holy Spirit guide you today as you journey on through your life so that we will unite and stand together for Him. Let us show His wonder through the miracles in our lives. My whole life is a testimony of His love and mercy. I have seen miracles and I have seen His hands at work so many times. Even in my worst moments I saw how God can intervene and redirect me back to Him. I have watched God perform the impossible through me so I will stand today and shout out His praise for in me is an almighty God. 

My dear friend, stand with me as we show the impossible to a dark world to bring light into their fears and release them from their chains. Let them stand in wonder at the power of our Lord. Let them fall to their knees as the Lord perform miracle after miracle through us.

Stand and live my friend, for you are so important in God’s plan.

Today Reminder – 20 July 2015 (Day 9 – Forward)

A reminder for today

See, they are all foolish, worthless things. All your idols are as empty as the wind. (Isaiah 41:29)

How are you my friend? Today is a historic moment for God’s blog as I write my one thousand’s post. Yes it is a thousand posts in honour of our Lord and His amazing love for us. How was your weekend? I was so blessed to have my boys with me this weekend and what a great weekend we had. God is truly good for me and He surely blessed me with two amazing little boys. 

So what do we write about today? I feel the Holy Spirt reminding me that we are in our process of moving forward and today He wants us to remember that life is about God and not worldly material things. When I celebrate the Lord I celebrate His wonder and His mercy, for I have lost everything but in Him I have gained more. I still make my mistakes but now I realise them faster and I seek His guidance immediately. 

Those that are lost cannot see a life without their stuff and they trust in worldly and empty things. We trust in an almighty God, a living God. We trust in the creator of heaven and earth. Those who place their trust in idols are foolish. Stand with me today as we give all the glory to God. If you are reading this you are part of a miracle. You see the enemy tried to destroy me and here I am writing to you. He tried to break my faith and here I am with more and stronger faith. He tried to stop me from writing and here I am by the grace of God writing about that amazing grace.

Yes my friend, here I am on my knees again as I surrender it all. Here I am where the Lord found me as He draws me near desperate for Him. I asked Him to drench my soul with His mercy and grace and I hunger and thirst for Him. With my arms starched wide I know He hears me as I call on Him to speak to me now. I want to know Him more as I step forward into His light. Like a rushing wind the Lord breathed into me as I give my life for Him to have for His way and will. Let His will be done as every knee bows and calls His name.

Let His grace fill you today and lift you up. Let His Sprit build you up and make you invincible. Let His light shine so brightly in you that all you meet will stand in awe.
