Today's thought - 09 June 2026 (Patience)

Patience is not one of my virtues. If I buy my kids gifts for Christmas, they always get them before the time. Jip, you will get your birthday gift before it is your birthday. Now, we have to take my ex-wife to court to try and force her to take my daughter to a forensic psychiatrist, which by the way was appointed by the court. We have to make a case of “contempt of court” to get her to do what the court ordered. How amazing is this and to top it off she now has a new lawyer, which means she still thinks she is going to get away with this. You see it was never about my daughter, it is all about what she wants, and I can promise you her previous lawyer probably told her she is making a mistake for God told me even her council will turn against her.

Now maybe you can understand a little of my frustration because I am worried about my little girl and she has no idea why one moment she can see her Daddy and the next not.

Now God placed patience on my mind this morning so let’s look into this a bit.

Psalm 27:14 - Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!

Psalm 40:1 - I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.

Psalm 37:7 - Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Lamentations 3:25 - The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.

These four scriptures basically boil down to the fact that there is a reward in patience for patience grows trust and trust grows faith. So, let me paraphrase a bit. Wait patiently and serve patiently the Lord our God and be not afraid nor get upset or frustrated at the works of the wicked for God will listen to your prayers and He is good to those who wait, serve and seek Him.

Ok, now we are getting somewhere. My main verse is Jeremiah 17:7 - Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.

Blessed are you who trust the Lord and serve Him diligently in patience. This verse goes on and this is what I want you to hear – “For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit (verse 8)”.

So, what does God say. Those who wait patiently and trust in the Lord our God will be blessed, and they will be fruitful in all their doings like a tree near water. They will not fear when trouble comes but instead prosper in all they do and they will never stop to bear fruit.

My dear friend, I know it is hard and I know it can seem impossible at times but keep trusting God and do not give up. Delight in the Lord and rejoice in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Have an awesome day.
