Today Reminder - 01 August 2012 (Destroy)

My prayer for you for today is that you will be righteous, in Jesus name.

1 John 3:7-8
Dear children, don't let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

Destroy - But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. The works of the devil is destroyed! Wow, I just love this statement John makes here in John chapter 3. John has been talking about sin and how we must stop sinning, because in Jesus we are righteous and sin free. Sin should have no hold on us as we live each day with the comfort of the cross of Jesus. Yet sin still happens to have a grip on us, we seem to slip so easily into the pit and before we know it we are heading in the wrong direction. Our worldly self takes control and we allow sin to enter into our lives once more.

My dear friend, John is bold when he says: “When people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil.” This is so important for us to know and understand, when you do what is right you become righteous and knowing what to do means that you are listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in turn knowing what is right and doing what is right ultimately brings us closer to the heart of God. Striving to do His will and determined to do what is right should be our first and foremost goal.

Living a healthy and balanced live striving to do what is right will make you a force to be reckoned with. And finally a healthy body and a healthy mind will have a healthy Spirit, and a healthy Spirit means that the worldly self will be lost to a heavenly Spirit.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus as we continue to live, love and laugh

Cheers
