Today Reminder – 01 December 2015

A reminder for today
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

How blessed are we? This weekend we spoke about being blessed and how easy it is for people to forget where it all comes from. I took a moment and did a few comparisons about our way of life and the way other people live. I did not compare us to wealthy people, I compared us against our maid and how she lives and for a moment I was filled with a massive amount of gratitude, because I know God blesses us so much. We have so much that we should be grateful for. We realised that we need to give more for we have received so much out of love.

This brings me to the month we are in now. It is Christmas and it is the most wonderful time of the year. It is a time of giving and time of receiving. God so loved this world that He gave His only Son to die for our sins and in return Jesus also loves us so much that He gave His life for us. God has given us so much in that single act of unconditional love that it is imperative that we do the same. I am not asking you to give away all your possessions. I am asking you to give love. To love other and to show love towards other, because without knowing you might give someone more this Christmas than they have ever received before.

So today I want to remind you that you are blessed and that this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches.

Lord we thank you for all your love and all your blessings over our lives and we stand with grateful hearts as we worship you Lord. Let us show your love through our lives and let our lights shine bright as celebrate your birth once more. In Jesus name.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
