Today Reminder – 30 December 2015

A reminder for today
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

South Africa is caught up in a terrible drought and everywhere you go you see newspaper billboards expressing their concerns at the days ahead. Food prices are going to go up and water is going to be scares. They talk about are current water levels in our damns and today I saw the worst one. A farmer shot himself because of this drought.

The world around us can be caught up in a drought or it could go through a season of plenty. The fact is just as the world around us has seasons and weather problems, so does our lives. We can also go into a time of drought where we are in the midst of a massive challenge that consumes us and drives us to our very last drop of strength and often destroys us. What do we do when there is no hope? Taking your own life or giving up is not the answer or to lie down in a hopeless bundle hoping it will go away is also not going to help us. God says that we must be strong and courageous and we should not be afraid nor panic in the midst of our problems. The Lord our God goes out ahead and He will never fail us nor abandon us. This is so awesome and probably one of the most powerful promises in the Bible. God made us to be victorious through all our problems. He made us to stand and never give up; otherwise He would have never sent His only Son to die for our sins. If God loves you so much then it is clear that He will carry you through your storms. Don’t give up my friend.

Lord, thank you for reminding us that you will never fail us and that you will never abandon us. Please let us make this Word part of every day and strengthen us through your Holy Spirit so that we will not give up. In Jesus name.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
