A reminder for
today
And I stood upon
the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads
and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of
blasphemy. (Revelation 13:1)
Ok, let’s have a look at the coming antichrist. There are
many that does not believe in Jesus but there is one that is coming that will
surpass all we have ever seen. Now many try to butcher this prophecy and try to
obscure it. Others dismiss it entirely
and even other say it is already fulfilled. Now very important; this coming deceiver
is not a historical figure such as Nero, Saddam Hussein, Hitler or Putin or any
other current world leader. On top of this many bible authorities speak with
competing and disagreeing voices that just adds to the confusion.
World troubles and nuclear warfare begs for a saviour to
come and save mankind. Now the bible teaches us that a powerful antichrist will
come to actually rule the world before Jesus comes. Unknown to many this antichrist
is referenced time and again through scripture. God uses many terms for him
including man of sin (2 Thes. 2:3), son of perdition (2 Thes. 2:3), little horn
(Dan. 8:9), fierce king (Dan. 8:23), foolish shepherd (Zech. 11:15-16), Wolf (John
10:12), adversary (Luke 18:3), beast (Dan. 7:11), fourth beast (Dan. 7:23), seventh
head (Rev. 13:3), that wicked one (2 Thes. 2:8), woman in a jar (Zech. 5:7), he
that comes (Heb. 10:37), the snare (Luke 21:35), the fire (1 Cor. 3:13),
desolation (Hag. 1:11) and place of dragons (Psa. 44:19).
These terms relate to the misunderstood figure known as the
antichrist. Now many think that the antichrist will be mainly focussed against
the jews with a complete misreading of Daniel 9:27. Many believe that this deceiver
will make a seven year covenant with the modern day Israel, breaking it half
way thus causing the tribulation for the last three and half years of his
reign. Many believe that at this point he will throw of his cloak and reveal
his true colours. This believe is wrong and the believe that millions will
escape through a fictional rapture.
The antichrist’s arrival involves domination of the entire
world right from the beginning. Now we will look into that more tomorrow.
Lord, please prepare us for what is to come. Please give us the
strength and courage to face the tribulations that awaits us. In Jesus name.
