Five power verses – Day 5

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Here I am Lord, living and breathing for you. I am no longer the person I was, but instead I am a new me, a “me” filled with you. My old self have died as you have died and a new “me” was raised from the dust of the old “me” just as you rose from the grave. 

I live each day trusting you knowing that you gave your life for me and that I am free from any and all accusations the enemy can make against me. You call me friend and therefore I will be a true friend for you living for you and loving you with a joyful heart.

There is nothing that can separate us form the love of Jesus and nothing can change the fact that He died for us. The enemy lost, and battle has been won. Therefore I will live for you alone oh Lord and live I will. 

I will live giving more of you to those I see and meet, to honour our friendship, and to share the great gift of your resurrection. I will live more each day so that in living I will glorify your name. I will live, because in living I will be able to show you wherever I go. I will live, because life is a gift…

Today Reminder - 04 October 2012 (Five power days)

Five power verses – Day 4

The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions. (Proverbs 28:1)

I wake up watching the sun rise over the city. As the gold and yellow rays of the early dawn stream down the streets and buildings, I feel renewed. I am filled with new determination to see the day through. I will face whatever comes my way and I will be bold in my actions placing the glory of all my victories in the hands of my Lord.

I will be like a lion charging with one goal and that is to be successful. I will face the enemy at every corner and I will not be defeated. No! I will stand and break the chains as I break the hold of temptation with Jesus by my side.

I will be a lion for God, unstoppable at full speed.

Today Reminder - 03 October 2012 (Five power days)

Five power verses – Day 3

Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. (Luke 10:19)

Where is my faith oh Lord? Where is my trust? I wander through live with limitless power, yet I seem weak and powerless. I do not follow your direction, but steer away from it out of fear and disobedience. I hide away and shiver at the thought of proclaiming your presence in my life. 

I am a failure, I am lost… Yet you still lift me up and carry me when I do not want to walk anymore. You uplift my spirit and fill me with joy. You bless me with gifts and shower me with praise. Praise, that I am not worthy of. You give me life and you give me freedom. You give me strength to continue…

To believe in Jesus Christ is to conquer all fear and all that lies in your way of doing His will. Jesus gave us authority over all the power of the enemy. Why do we allow the enemy to manipulate and misguide us? We are children of a living and all-powerful God, we are dangerous in the eyes of the enemy. He should fear us and not us him.

Today Reminder - 02 October 2012 (Five power days)

Five power verses – Day 2

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

I stand and watch as the dark clouds set in, bringing a storm over my once quiet little world. The winds gush through the trees and whistle past me as they run shivers down my spine. The cold drops of rain splash on my face as I stare up to heaven, looking, seeking…

I am scared as the rhythm of rain drops falling on the ground around me increase and my shirt is soaked, clinging to my body breaking the last warmth and leaving me in shivers.

Yet inside I am warm, I am not afraid. I stare at the heavens as light breaks through the thick clouds, surrounding me and slowly breaking the grip of the cold and warming me.

I shall not be afraid, because the Creator of heaven and earth is close beside me. Even when my world crashes into pieces will I still continue to hold on to the truth and the freedom that lies in Jesus Christ.

I will not be afraid…

Today Reminder - 01 October 2012 (Five power days)

Five power verses – Day 1

"For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

In the midst of all the rush and worldly problems we are all faced with one question: Will we perish or will be live eternally? When the world around us stops making sense and we are tired and burdened, there is one constant that should drive us and keep us focussed. This constant is Jesus Christ. This is the one thing that should uplift your spirit and turn your feet into dancing. 

To love is to sacrifice and to sacrifice is to commit. To love this world so much and give your only son for the salvation of all is love in its very essence. Receiving this gift is one part of it, but living this gift is so very important. 

My dear friend, to believe in Jesus Christ means that eternity lies in your grasp. You will not perish but gain freedom, and in this freedom you will live eternally with our Lord. Let Jesus be your focus point and the driving power behind your perseverance. But don’t just receive, also give. Your joy and happiness can lighten up someone else’s pain and darkness. Don’t keep this gift for yourself, but rather share it. Share it, by living it.
